Guest guest
Dear Sadakas Pranams Kindly elucidate some thoughts on the following subject. Our Hindu religion suggest so many ways to reach God. By singing, by meditating, by praying, by performing poojas, by following a Guru, by having our own system of worship to reach divineliness Kindly give me a concrete and a fool proof way to reach God. Some people are donating, some are worshipping, some Guru telling to go temples, some suggests your heart is the real temple and you are the essence of God. With love Krishna
Guest guest
Krishnaji, there are no gurantees, concreteness on path to God! No money back gurantees, this is not business! Finding God is like a gamble- if you win, you win everything, but if you lose, you lose nothing! So its a gamble worth taking. But there is no 100% reliable method of finding God. Finding God is not like shunting of trains- its not a highly mechanical process, highly boring. Its a very creative, personal process. Thats why Vivekananda said each person must have his own religon. Nature keeps experimenting. She even tries strange methods like Left handed tantra who may eat meat/alcohl to find God, to Buddhists who deny God completely. But thats fine by Nature, as she wants to try newer & newer methods of Self realisation. Through your previous Karma & decisions, you become suitable for one of the millions of paths. Its then upto you to walk on that path honestly, but theres no gurantee you'll reach anywhere.....
Guest guest
Krishnaji, Since there are many ways to reach God ,but we should follow the path which is relevant to the times . It is said that chanting the name of god is the sadhaana for Kaliyug . Satyayuga: This was a very pure era when the average spiritual level of a person was 70% (this is the level of a Saint). These people were so pure spiritually that the Path of Knowledge was best suited to them as they had the potential to spontaneously understand the implied meanings of all spiritual scriptures. Tretayuga: This was the era when the spiritual level of the average person dropped to 55% and so they lost their potential to follow the Path of Knowledge. But they were spiritually capable enough to undertake penance (the kind that allowed one seeker stand on one foot for 12 years) and meditation (the kind that made one seeker meditate long enough for an ant hill to grow all over him). Dwaparyuga: There was a further decline in spiritual levels and people lost their potential for rigorous penance and sustained meditation. So it was divinely ordained such that they would be able to make progress through ritualistic worship. These rituals and sacrificial fires (yadnyas) were very time consuming and laborious as they had to be done after searching for the right ingredients. Along with this there were numerous steps which had to be followed to the last detail. But people were religious-minded enough to spend the time, effort and money to do them. Kaliyuga: This is translated as the ‘Era of strife’ and is the current period. The average person’s spiritual level has dropped to only 20%. Our capacity to do any of the above spiritual practices has greatly reduced. But considering the turbulent times we live in and the extent of the spiritual pollution – God has made a simple provision for us to still grow spiritually. All He wants of us to do as spiritual practice, is repeat His Name. Guest guest
Dear Krishna.. I too agree with shanracer.. there is no " PERFECT PATH " , because all paths will lead to god... The trick lies in how intense our effots are... Witnessing ones thoughts, actions and desires can be a very useful tool.... Bhakthi can be the ultimate tool as well, but the trick is to be in it 100%.. When all of ones energy is flowing on one goal, then it be comes easy to understand that the mind is a mirage.... no thoughts, no mind.... The awareness or " watching " which comes in a split second is the first gate.... Later as the vasanas weaken by experience and awareness, Association with thoughts die off.. which is the second gate Thoughts cannot survive without importance.... the ahamkara starts weakening... Third gate Explosive bliss sets in once the mind reaches some degree of silence.... Fourth gate.. After that I do not know.... I do not want to quote books or words of my Guru... It is experience alone that i prefer to trust... But in all, I feel all paths will lead to GOD.... If our involvement is total... Totality is God... Totality of energy, experience and bliss.. If our search is true... We will find.... Because we too are that. just that we have a little amnesia as of now ;-) On 6/11/07, srcm_tdk <srcm_tdk wrote:
Guest guest
I think this is very nice topic. My thoughts on this are these. I believe first of all we should stop believing that we are not attached to him(God). We are one with him but ironically we always try to attach our self with him believing we are not one and what we get; we never find him instead we should realize that we are one with him.If we start believing that all other things will automatically follow. Can anyone tell me at which moment he detached him self from us? It is we who do that and how fool we are we do that to find him when he is already there. Light & Love, Nisarg Nikhil Thaker.
