Hinduism is perhaps the only religion which confirms the Evolution !

 

It is said that a soul reaches Human after crossing through 8.4

million different species.

 

Even the avtaars of Vishnu are in such a manner as to confirm

evolution... right from a fish to a reptile, to a half animal to a

perfect human being (Krishna)

 

The theory of evolution put forth by Darwain, may look imperfect

before Hinduism's evolution theory. As per hinduism,....

Particularly Tantra puts forth evolution...but it starts from

Involution

 

If we study the 36 Tattwa of Tantra, the involution becomes

clear. It tells how the Supreme Turiya Tattwa, involves or

differentiate into shiva and shakti... then to Ishwar Tattwa, Vidya,

Avidya... down upto matter.

 

Evolution starts from matter. It is a return journey to the

Supreme. The Mind awakens in matter as Prana and the matter

becomes living being... Nature trying to use hit and trial method to

make different species...to look for another better body.

 

The next evolution of Mind is sub-conscious, and this sub-

conscious manifests as plants, trees etc. Next step is manifesting

of Intelligence... and we reach upto animals

 

As the intelligence evolves more and more... we get animals more

intelligent and more social.. Higher intelligence animals live in

groups... take care of each other's children and hunt in group with

a confirmed strategy.

 

The moment mind manifests as Viveka... the human is born. Each

human have Viveka.. this is different he uses it or not. The choice

to select and finding ways to control Nature both lower and higher

are the signs of an awakened Viveka.

 

The next evolution of mind would be Pragya... and human will

turn into divine

 

so as per Hinduism, the evolution is not of bodies. It is the

evolution of the Mind... which in turn brings changes in the bodies

or genes.

 

Till Viveka... the soul uses mind as a direct Tool to manifest

and evolve from matter. Of course, as Shanracer said it is in fact,

the evolution of Soul.... but upto Humans Soul keeps hidden behind

the Mind and uses mind as tool to develop.

 

On Pragya stage... mind ceases to be the controller and the soul

takes all the control in her hands...and we are Ready for the BIG

LEAP

Dear Babaji

you have explained the evolution theory very beautifully. And

this new word " involution " is just amazing. Yes the journey we, the

humans are in, is inward journey, from matter to life; from life to

devine life and so on.

Om Nama Shivaya.

 

I would say that the west and rest of the world has come up with a

Evolution theory based on our Hinduism beleifs, Literature and

concepts.

 

Charles Darwin was born in the year 1809 and live up to 1882, and

came up with the evolution theory which the west and rest of the

world accepts it as a theory and not a Law or fact.

 

Where as in Hinduism a lot of examples can be given we beleive in

Evolution, for example

 

Tamil Sage - Manikkavasagar a renowned shivanadiar( shiv bakth),

while praying to the Lord in his Shivapuranam - Thiruvasagam prays as

follows ( i have tried to translate in English ).

 

i was Grass, i was Shrubs, Worm was I, transformed into trees, Bird

was I, Snake was I, Species living in Stone was I, trasformed into

Human, was in astral level as a soul, born in as Asura ( higher form

of human with boon ), transformed into sage, dhevar,

Oh lord i have taken all forms and iam tired now, i pray to your

Lotus feet, red feet for showing me the way to disolve in you. I pray

you Lord to get rid of birth maya and releive me to merge within you.

 

This song goes on explaining lot of other things such as Maya, Astral

things.....

 

Manikkavasagar lived in Madurai during late 7th century and served as

minister to Pandya king.

 

Similarly in Vaishnavam, if you take the example of Dasavathar,

Matsya - the fish, Kurma - the turtle, Varaha - the boar Narasimha -

the Man-Lion, Vamana, the Dwarf, Parashurama - More of emotional

human, Bala Rama - more refined human, Rama - refined Human &

Krishna - The perfect Human, and expecting Kalki to appear at the end

of Kali Yuga to save us., is an example we beleive in evolution.

 

Like ShantnuJi said, analysing the rituals and few scripts, its

beleived the womb of cow lead to human evolution. SHANTNUJI COULD YOU

PLEASE ELOBRATE ON THIS BELEIF ( cow as ancestors of human )PLEASE.

 

Babaji said it beautifully that it starts from matter and ends in

disolving with the Supreme and evolution is Evolution of mind and not

physical.

This is very much Sri Aurobindo's teaching that states that the One

Being and Consciousness is involved here in Matter. Evolution is the

method by which it liberates itself; consciousness appears in what

seems to be inconscient, and once having appeared is self-impelled to

grow higher and higher and at the same time to enlarge and develop

towards a greater and greater perfection.

 

Life is the first step of this release of consciousness; mind is the

second; but the evolution does not finish with mind, it awaits a

release into something greater, a consciousness which is spiritual

and supramental. The next step of the evolution must be towards the

development of Supermind and Spirit as the dominant power in the

conscious being. For only then will the involved Divinity in things

release itself entirely and it become possible for life to manifest

perfection.

 

Sri Aurobindo argues that humankind as an entity is not the last rung

in the evolutionary scale, but can evolve spiritually beyond its

current limitations associated with an essential ignorance to a

future state of supramental existence. This further evolutionary step

would lead to a divine life on Earth characterized by a supramental

or truth-consciousness, and a transformed and divinised life and

material form.
