Namaste all.

-Sri Raghupathi Upadhyaya

Padyavali 126

Some may worship the God of the Upanishads,

some the One described in the Smritis, and

yet others may bow down to the God glorified

in the Mahabharata, shaking with the fears

of life and death in this material world.

But I will place my head at the feet

of Nanda Maharaj in whose back yard

the Supreme Brahman is crawling about

in the form of a baby Boy.

All glories to Nanda Baba, the beloved father of Lord Krishna!

In Gita 9.17 Lord Krishna says-

'pitA 'hamasya jagato mAtA dhAtA pitAmahaH,

vedyaM pavitram oGkAra Rk sAma yajureva ca'

'I AM the Father of this world,

the Mother, the Dispenser

and the Grandfather.

I am Knowable, the Purifier,

the sacred syllable OM and also

the Rik, the Samn and the Yajus.'

Arjuna prays to Lord Krishna:

" pitAsi lokassya carAcarasya.... " (Gita 11.43)

" Lord, You are the Father of this world moving and unmoving..... "

Our everyday prayer to the Lord:

tvam eva mAta ca pitA tvam eva

O Lord! You ALONE are my Mother.

O Lord! You ALONE are my Father.

In Gita 9.17 Lord Krishna Himself says-

'pitA 'hamasya jagato mAtA dhAtA pitAmahaH,

vedyaM pavitram oGkAra Rk sAma yajureva ca'

'I AM the Father of this world, the MOTHER,

the Dispenser and the Grandfather.

I am Knowable, the Purifier, the Sacred Syllable OM

and also the Rik, the Samn and the Yajus.'

(Narada Panca Ratra)

First utter the Name of Mother of the world 'rAdhA' and

afterwards the Name of Father, Supreme Self, 'kRSNa',

because, the Guru of Father is the Mother and

so she is worshipable hundred times more.'

The great poet-saint Kalidasa has sung-

'jagataH pitarau vande pArvatI-pramezvarau'

(Raghuvamsam 1.1 - Mahakavi Kalidasa)

I offer my salutations to the original

Parents of the world,

Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati Devi.

Jaya Sri Radhe!
