It is said that those who are content are really rich and those who seek more are poor. It is seen generally that those who are affluent, always try to add to their wealth. Some people who really lack the basic needs seems to be happy with what they have. They seems to be content with their lot. It is really a paradox of life. People when grow in their wisdom, learn the bitter lessons of life, the hard way. In Sai Sath Charitha, one episode about Kabir and his preceptor Nibathiranjan is narrated. When Kabir saw people grind wheat in the mortar is being pulverised, He told his Guru(Preceptor), that he is very much perturbed to see the grinding of wheat. He too feel like crying when being pulverised by living in the world of agony and pain which made him feel restless. Then his preceptor told him, "Do not worry", Do as I Do". Hold to the centre prop of the mortar stone and do not go beyond the centre. Then you can avoid being pulverised. You can very well imagine a mortar stone. The bottom stone about a feet in diameter is fixed and the top mortar stone which is rotated around the centre prop of bottom stone. Wheat or pulses are placed in the centre hole. As the mortar top is rotated slowly the wheat get into the crevice between both the stones and in this process it gets pulverised. If it is not displaced from the centre, it will remain as full grain only. Likewise if you want to escape from the grinding wheels of Life, Hold on to the centre prop which is god. It is stable. It doesn't rotate. You can remain safe only in the centre. If you start travelling from the centre(god) towards outer rim of mortar(worldly life), you are sure to get grinded in this process. Hence Beware. Hold the Centre. Sairam.
