Guest guest
"Paropakaram Idham Sareeram" says the scriptures. Our body is meant only for the service of others. But we conveniently have forgotton this axiom and utilise hardly 1% for the service of others. But most of the people live their lives only for themselves and their families. Our only aim seems to be money making. OK. What the money can get you? Swami has narrated nicely. You can purchase luxurious beds and pillows but you can never purchase sleep. You can get costly dishes but you can never purchase hunger or digestion. An interesting news i have read many years ego. The Nizam of Hyderabad is the owner of crores or rupees worth of properties. Once it was found six crores of currency notes were eaten by rats and mouses. He was ailing from a serious stomach problem. He could not consume solid food. He consumes porridges only. It is said that the weekly expenditure on food is hardly two rupees at that time. Hence money will be helpful only to certain extent. It may purchase palatial buildings, caddiloc cars etc. But you stay or lie in only one room at a time, dine 3 times a day and wear one or two dresses in a day. Then what is the empty space for? Had they realised that charity is the best property, all those kings and Nizams would have engaged more in charity than in accumulation. Even in scriptures it is written, "Na karmana, Na prajaya, Dhanena, Tyagaineke Amrutatva Manasu. Not with work, not with children, not with money, realisation can be achieved. Only through sacrifice we can attain immortality. Sairam.
