It has a love without boundaries or prejudices, knowing no distinction between good and bad, or right and wrong. It is fostered in the home by parents and in return, it loves those parents completely without reserve and includes the entirety of creation in that love. It knows nothing other this filial love. As the child grows, it enters into the field of friendship with others, that is merely another facet of love that requires the understanding of forgiveness and forbearance. Later on in life, it finds a partner and marries. Now, this love is tinged with passion and lust, a fervent demanding love. Yet again, it has offspring and so the love now develops into a caring protective, compassionate and gentle love. Here, we find that, whereas initially, the major portion of love was directed towards the parents, it is now showered upon the children. In fact, even the spouse takes second place. How the form of love changes during the various stages of life, circumstance and requirement. Love assumes as many forms as we face predicaments in our lives. Yet, they are all facets of the divine diamond of love. There are now varying degrees and facets of love towards a number of persons. There are so many changing forms to this worldly love. Loving God is the final form of love and the most intensive as there can be no restrictions. Human love without restrictions becomes obsessive and destructive. All other relationships and loves are merely stepping stones to creating this love for God. The merging of these streams of love creates a hallowed, strong, pure, divine love for the Lord. The ultimate is loving God. It is also a love that will spread itself to include all others. The first and foremost is and should be this love of God.
