Dear Friends,

 

Earlier on I have posted about one Kalyani who is paralyzed from neck

down needing help. I would like to thank all who responded and helped

the same.

 

At the same time I received also numerous mails stating eagerness to

help directly.

 

As such I have started a group site for like minded persons. You can

access it at

Many of us laypersons are from different areas and towns. The purpose

of the site is for us to get acquainted with each other and finally

help those surrounding us. Also it is a site in which you can post

about the needy also.

 

Most of the poor get only partial help from the welfare department,

political bodies and NGOS. Most lack continuous support. Please also

understand that one can help also through advice, filling up forms

and getting them into contact with appropriate channels.

 

This site is not to solicit funds. It is not to start an organization

or whatever. It is for us to know about each other from the same

place. Thereafter one can meet at a prefixed venue and date. One need

only to help according to one's capacity, none should be forced. What

we hope is to get direct involvement from the Makal. It is to get us

to be involved directly in helping the needy. That is the meaning of

Makal Shakti.

 

Our Hindraff brothers went to jail because of us. Many joined the

protest because they feel that they have become the new underclass of

Malaysia. Criminal activities and social ills abound in our community

due to poverty and lack of help alone. Our Indians proportionally

outnumber others in lower end criminal activities, though our overall

numbers in term of population are small only. Others use our brothers

for their own ends. This is a sad fact. We should do our bit to our

Indian brethren, hence the reason for this site.

 

We contribute funds to some rich temples. Thereafter these succeed in

building huge statues and structures. During Thaipusam the river

flows with milk. All these are wasted resources. Think and see, my

brothers and sisters. The huge idol will appear small when seen from

far, and devotees go to both asking the same things alone. The money

used to build such structures can definitely be used to help our poor

and needy. When there are still amongst us who are wanting, can we

close our eyes and pray oblivious to our surroundings?

 

If I arrange a few people of different races and some Indians, surely

we can identify our Indian brethren. This shows our ancestry to be

the same. All are one family alone. A few thousand years ago all

would have shared the same forefathers. Do we waste the prasadam

(holy offering) in our house? Yet we do the same in the temples. This

shows we don't consider each other as one family alone. We think

differently when it comes to our own, yet think differently when it

comes to our community.

 

Long time ago our forefathers were sailors. They sailed and

influenced many in religion, language, culture and technology. At a

time when the whites were still in dark ages, our forefathers were

masters of metal works, town planning, building, philosophy etc. But

thereafter somewhere down the line we d to caste and

superstitions. We stopped sailing as not to lose our caste. Due to

lack of interaction among the working classes we deteriorated in

technological advancement. We became disunited. Once we were at the

top of civilization. The whites searched our land for having heard

its richness in their ancient books. It is due to this that they call

the natives of Americas as Indians (Maya Indians and Red Indians) for

wrongly having believed to have landed in India. Yet we have become

so deteriorated that they conquered us when they landed our shores.

 

Only we have symbolized god as Buddhi (Arumugam). Yet many fail to

use this constructively. Merging it in the world we learn about the

world, merging it in the OM we learn about the Iraivan. The whites

use it and rule. But we to pyramid power and all such

nonsense to achieve wealth in the world. If I burn the lighter and

say the sun goes round due to it, I am a mighty fool only. But one is

a bigger fool to trust me alone. As such using the buddhi (intellect)

and manasatchi (conscience) only we can reach the summit (Palani

hills). These two are the poles of the Kavadi.

 

Most of our forefathers came to this country as laborers and to seek

greener pastures. The British came as masters.

 

Let what has become the past, be the past, we cannot change it.

 

But we can change the future. And I found out many of our brothers

and sisters who are willing to help. Apart from this, please also

give business to our same kind. Please employ workers from our same

kind. At least do not see differences amongst our own when it comes

to business, education, friendship and temples. Forget about the

richer temples which have influential patronage. Forget the samiadi

temples also. But get acquainted with temples which are associated

with the poor. Here you can meet those who are wanting.

 

Please join the site and let us get together to help our own

brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers. Here once again I give the
