When the water is turbid, if you allow it to remain undisturbed in a vessel, all the impurities slowly settle down at the bottom of the vessel in few hours. In the villages, people use the seed of certain tree, and it also removes the impurities. Nowadays people add alum for settling the impurities and the alum also will be dissolved finally. In spiritual realm, the impurities of the mind are best treated by chanting any of the names of god. Service to the poor, and feeding the hungry, extending all medical aids, these are all some process by which the removal of impurities in the mind is quickened to a great extent. In the crematoriums, where the bodies are burnt by firewood or cowdung, the body alongwith the firewood is burnt completely leaving only the ashes and pieces of bones. Our aim in spirituality should be to get anhilated completely without leaving any residue. This is possible when you go near the principle of Divinity. As we approach god through devotion and love, we move near him and our samskaras are burnt rapidly in the process. Finally there will be nothing left to warrant another birth in this miserable world. We should die so that there won't be any further birth. Sairam.
