Shirdi Baba has not stirred away from Shirdi baring one or two places. Majority of his life was spent in Shirdi(around 60 years). He had certain routines. He kept the fire burning always, feeding them with logs of wood. Sometimes the fire tongues will raise upto the rafters of the roof. Though Baba seems to be oblivious to such events, he will realise it in time and hit the nearby pillar with his satka asking the flame to get down. With each hit of the satka, the flame came down and remained calm. Such was his control over the five elements. When a thunderstorm was ragging in Shirdi, and the people were greatly disturbed seeking refuge in the Masudi Ayi, Baba came out and thundered, "Keep quiet, Reduce your fury and remain calm". Immediately the storm was reduced and everything became calm and people became happy. Many such events took place during Sathya Sai Baba's life also. When the river "Chitravati was on full spate, and reached the precincts of 'old mandir' alarmingly raising the water level". The devotees got freightened and Swami came out and uttered "go back, go back". Immediately the water level start subsiding and everybody was happy. During one of Dassarah celeberations, during "Poornahuti" day, black thunder clouds surrounded the place where the yagna was taking place in open. At those times there was no covered shed. Everybody thought that "Poornahuti" will get spoiled due to rain. But Swami has said, "Nothing will happen and continue the yagna". As told by Him, the Yagna was performed without any hindrance from the threatening rain. All the elements are under the control of Swami. Sairam.
