They have a reality within them in the form of their beloved Swami. Swami will take care of their dreams if any, but that too, if it is conducive to their spiritual progress. Every one of us know, that Swami is aware of our past, present and future. Swami says, His reactions will be entirely different because of His awareness. We react to persons and situations at their face value or as per our emotions or psychology. Some people may surmise that Swami is heard hearted, since He do not cure all the people, or comforts all the people or remove the sufferings of all. He is aware of each individual soul which is embroiled in Maya, and the accumulations of each soul in various births. Hence, he allows the sufferings to continue for some more time. If any balance of karma is kept, it will be the seed for one more birth. Hence better pay back all your dues without any residue. Thus you will become free for ever. Sairam.
