Guest guest
Baba came to Me G. K. Chengaiah A Guru never fails his disciples and devotees. After all, human life is full of challenges - pain and pleasure as a result of one's past 'karmas'. Steadfast faith in the Guru certainly helps the devotee overcome obstacles in his life. I have been experiencing the extremes - affluence, prosperity, health, name and fame and the loss of all these. But my saviour and hope have been Sai Baba of Shirdi and Guru Radhakrishna Swamiji, who have unfailingly been coming to my rescue in times of crisis. Some years back I ran into a bad spell, problems of health and finance together confronting me. I tried to help a gentleman from Andhra Pradesh with (borrowed) and to manage a textile business in Bangalore. As ill luck would have he could not later repay even the principle let alone the interest. I was mad to dispose of a house site and some other distress sales also to reduce the mounting pressure from creditors. To crown it all, I fell ill with 'slip disc', a crippling ailment. I was in bed with my head down by 400 and the legs were tied to sand bags weighing 50 pounds. A friend, Sri Subba Rao, asked for my horoscope to be shown to Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji for his opinion and blessings. Though I had no belief in horoscopes, I gave a copy to him. But the next morning at about 9 0' clock, the Swamiji and Sri Subba Rao came home and sat near my bed. Sri Subba Rao gave me Swarniji's viboodhi prasad and asked me to keep some under my pillow and smear it on my forehead when I could sit up. He also mentioned that Swamiji was saying that I would be out of bed in 15 days. Both of them then went away. I called my eldest daughter. Sow. Kusuma, and asked her, " I can understand you not giving coffee to Subba Rao, but could you not give some milk at least to Swamiji? " My daughter replied, " Father, don't I know? But, Swamiji had not come here. It is all your hallucination, perhaps due to the drugs. Before I could come, Subba Rao had gone away " . I thought it probably was the effect of the tranquillizer. I prayed to Baba either to 'help me or end me'. Exactly on the 15th day, I was given a metal belt, which could keep me erect. I began attending office also. When I started going to the Sai Mandir, Thyagarajanagar, I was surprised to find Swamiji offering me a chair every time. After some months, I asked Sri Subba Rao whether Swamiji had come to my place along with him, when the former gave 'viboodhi'. He replied that Swamiji had not come. When I asserted that I clearly saw Swamiji sitting near my head, Sri Subbu said: " Baba came to you as Swamiji though he could not be seen by others. Don't argue with your people, you would know about it later. " After some months, when I finally asked Swamiji himself about it, laughed and said ''There is nothing in me, it was all the work of Him (Baba) and this sort of thing that happened to many others. I am a God man. " I also informed Swamiji that a few days earlier, when I was looking Baba's picture and praying to Krishna suddenly I saw two beautiful few from a yellow silk dhoti. I at once raised and joined my hands in prayer, but before I could recite sloka, the vision vanished. Swamiji said: " That is good. Don't mention this to non-believers. Keep within you. Have faith in God. " So saying, he started another roar of Sahasranama recitation. " Om Sri Viswaye Namaha. " I have been reciting this great gift, which I learnt from Swamiji. I have had several experiences of Baba and Swamiji coming to my rescue. I feel am blessed that in spite of my troubles, physical and otherwise the Guru himself has come to his devotee.
