We are enamoured by the electronic gadgets which makes a round in the globe and youth are especially attracted by the advertisements in the visual media. Already the youth of the country is enslaved by the mobile culture. Now i pods and other hand held gadgets attracts them. Let them ponder for a while. Are they happy after talking in mobiles or receiving and sending sms messages. Definitely NOT. Even after watching a colourful movie, none is exhilarated for ever. Swami has emphasised this point in one of the early discourses. He said, are you more happy after leaving the cinema hall than you entered?. Everybody can realise that everything is a passing show. A temporary feeling of happiness, if the show is really good. Then we have to revert back to other activities. No body would like to watch continuous shows or listen to continuous music, however thrilling it may be. In a way we are catering to the senses and they too bind us tightly to those habits. I love computers and i love to type messages. That also has a limit. Excepting repeating the name of god or reading holy books, none could give us lasting joy. Hence Swami exhort us to breath god, drink god eat god, and live in god. What else one requires in this mundane world? Sairam.
