Shirdi Baba used to say, "Sow margosa, reap margosa. The meaning is simple. We get what we give earlier. The harsh words that is used on us are the result of harsh words we used earlier at innocent people. Hence, do not feel that you are tortured for any unknown reason. The cause may not be visible or known to you. But the results are quite visible since we undergo the results now. If we could accept any happening as a result of our own foolish actions earlier, we wont resent much. Of course there will be inner resistance to all that is unsavory. If you accidentally bite a bitter cucumber, immediately you split it out. But spirituality teaches you in a different way. Eat, accept and then only the past karmas are wiped away. When Indira Devi of Tecate, Maxico was gifted with a beautiful "Japamala" by Swami, she was told that the japamala will cure diseases. Indra Devi enquired Swami, whether all diseases will be cured. Swami said No. The sufferings which are the result of bad karmas can not be cured. He said, "I wont interfere in the case of such deep rooted karmic actions. Only ordinary type of meladies which are the result of negligence etc can be cured by the Japamala. Of course, Swami will definitely grant us the strength and courage to face the meladies arising out of such deep rooted karmic actions which are bad. In schools, we find many teachers giving imposition to the students who are not attentive or do not do their home works. It is not out of hatred. It is out of love towards the students, the teacher punishes them in such fashion. In like manner, the retributions we make are similar to those impositions. Swami is love incarnate. Any harsh treatment, we undergo is also the result of such love only. When the baby soils its body, the mother gives a clean rub to the baby. Sometimes it may hurt the baby. But neverthless, the baby become clean and it can grow in a healthy way. Hence, do not blame god for all the sufferings you undergo. These penances are essential part for our upliftment. Sairam.
