Guest guest
Mother Sumithra bore in her womb, hamsa of Rama and Bharatha. It was the effect of sharing the portion of 'Divine Payasam" from the share of Kausalya and Kaikeyi. Poor Sumitra, while drying her hair in the terrace, keeping her share of payasam kept in a golden vessel on the parapet. Who can gauge the actions of fate?. Suddenly a hawk came swiftly and snatched the vessel from the parapet. But it landed with the vessel in a distant place where "Anjana Devi" was staying. It left the vessel there. Anjana Devi, finding the divine vessel full of sweet payasam drank it. Ultimately she too conceived like the Royal queens. She gave birth to "Anjaneya". Hence Anjaneya is the brother of the Divine Rama in a sense. This was revealed by Swami, in one of His discourses. Sumitra gave birth to Lakshmana and Chatrukuna solely for the service of their brothers. Hence she bade Lakshmana to serve Rama in the forest and Chatrukuna to assist Bharata in the administration of Kingdom. She was the epitome of sacrifice. Sairam.
