Guest guest
AUM SAI RAM Dear All, God is always and in all ways putting us to the test; are we looking for the Divine or for mundane pleasures? If we were given a chance, would we come closer to God or would we run away in the quest of the ephemeral?Who is or is not a black bee? A few days ago, I made an experience which I have decided to share with you after I received (with thanks) and read a forward from Sairam entitled ‘Shiva’s Litmus Test.’ Sairam relates the sad story of those, who even when they were gifted with the presence of Lord Shiva and Parvati Devi, chose to race, like insane, after material pleasures and trivialities, leaving the Divine behind. As per coincidental analogy, I had arranged for Joyti meditation classes for ladies at our local Sai Centre; I explained thoroughly to the ladies the need to meditate as taught by Bhagawan Baba. The teacher brought along with her a CD of meditation music which she played to the class. Some expressed the desire to buy the CD for their meditation at home. The teacher lovingly complied and as a further seva, she made copies of the CD for the ladies at a nominal price to cover her costs. Guess what? - You won’t believe it, but… The Shiva’s Litmus Test repeated itself in this Kaliyuga! After the CDs were distributed, I was stunned when the recipients came up to me and said: “Didi! Bahenji! Give me a Walkman to listen to this!” You may laugh but I was lost for words. “The black bee has a proboscis with which it can bore a hole through a strong bamboo or even through the human body. But when it enters a lotus flower and the lotus folds itself, the bee is unable to get out of its tender petals because it is immersed in the enjoyment of the lotus and forgets its own strength. Likewise, man to-day, forgetting the Divine that is present within him and in everyone and in everything he beholds, is immersed in worldly concerns and intoxicated with mundane pleasures. He is oblivious of his true divine nature and also of the divinity that’s present in others” Baba.
