(Note: Spiritual Mentor and Guide is addressed as GURU in this mail)

A teacher takes responsibility of your growthA Guru makes you responsible for your growthA teacher gives you things you do not have and requireA Guru takes away things you have and do not requireA teacher answers your questionsA Guru questions your answersA teacher helps you get out of the mazeA Guru destroys the mazeA teacher requires obedience and discipline from the pupilA Guru requires trust and humility from the pupilA teacher prepares you for the outer journeyA Guru prepares you for the inner journeyA teacher is a guide on the pathA Guru is a pointer to the wayA teacher sends you on the road to successA Guru sends you on the road to freedomA teacher explains the world and its nature to youA Guru explains yourself and your nature to youA teacher makes you

understand how to move about in the worldA Guru shows you where you stand in relation to the worldA teacher instructs youA Guru constructs youA teacher sharpens your mindA Guru opens your mindA teacher shows you the way to prosperityA Guru shows the way to serenityA teacher reaches your mindA Guru touches your soulA teacher gives you knowledgeA Guru makes you wiseA teacher gives you maturityA Guru returns you to innocenceA teacher instructs you on how to solve problemsA Guru shows you how to resolve issuesA teacher is a systematic thinkerA Guru is a lateral thinkerA teacher will punish you with a stickA Guru will punish you with compassionA teacher is to pupil what a father is to sonA Guru is to pupil what mother is to her childOne can always find a teacherBut a Guru has to find and accept youA teacher leads you

by the handA Guru leads you by exampleWhen a teacher finishes with you, you graduateWhen a Guru finishes with you, you celebrateWhen the course is over you are thankful to the teacherWhen the discourse is over you are grateful to the Guru

Om Sai Ram,

Thank you & well done Ashvani, for inspiring us with your spiritually enlightening emails. In Guru Vs Teacher, the simple message that a Guru imparts spiritual knowledge & upliftment is loud & clear. The guru leads us from darkness to light & from ignorance to spiritual realization. As an enlightened Hindu, I know that the path to God is only possible through the means of a spiritual Guru.

May Swamis Blessings be with us all.

Sai Ram Ashvani

,

This is nice but I feel a little too trite and honestly not all accurateYou don't say "Disciple" so if you are simply talking about people who come to an ashram and study, work, or even live there, taking the courses etc., then your sayings aren't all so far out

I mean, a Guru IS spiritually responsible for the disciple and the disciples actions and karma therefrom whilst his disciple - it is a Hugely serious matter - but that obviously does not apply at all to people who simply come and stay around; and so on down the list of your sayings

Thanks - just felt it could be mentioned for helping, hope you don't mind

Regards

aviva Maxwell
