SPORTS MEET 2010

Om Sairam dearest Sai Family,The annual sports and cultural meet 2010 of Sri Sathya University was a grand success. There is no word in english language to explain the courageous display of various sporting events by Swami's students.. COme January, every one surrounding Parthi are eager to attend the sports meet which is always a thrilling affair for the locals..Many schools in the surrounding areas plan to have an annual sporting eventlike that of Swami'suniversity but they give up the idea considering the risk involved in these events. It is sheer Swami' grace that these otherwise NORMAL students of Sai could display this kind of courage..Many a times, it gives a feeling that we are actually watching one of the famous and professional circus from Russia. Be it the bike riding, jumping every thing seems exciting and one shouldn't forget the time taken by these CHOSEN ONES to display these extraordianary skills. They hardly get a month's time which again shouldn't disturb their studies.The morning session of the sports meet was dominated by the Prasanthi Nilayam and Brindavan students. To start with was the dance sequence which depicted the ten avatars of the Lord which at the end showed the advent of our beloved Swami which was done instyle and grace..

The next one was the horse riding which was full of fun..Many a times the horses didn't want to obey the master and there was much laughter here and there which was very good. THe students then displayed the stunts with bikes,jeeps and there was the basket ball game which was hilarious with the jocker in the picture..Swami was enjoying the whole session..The large Muruga statue that was wheeled was the highlight of the morning programme and Iam sure all the Muruga devotees were pleased to see their beloved Deity in the middle.The most fearful stuntswere of the boys who did the motor bike ride One was playing the music, one was reading the news paper and one brother jumped on 20 men and that was a REAL RISK considering the limited practice they have and it is nothing but Swami's grace again that these boys could do this performances. the jeep ride was fantabulous.. and Swami was very pleased to see

His beloved Children perform successfully much to the amusement of the devotees assembled there..

AFTERNOON SESSION:Afternoon session was more sweet and exciting. Swami blessed us with His divine darshan at 4:40pm and He was welcomed in a very unique way by His tiny tots. Two children were tied up to each other and did somersaulting which was received by the devotees assembled with a big round of applauds..The afternoon programme started with little boys wearing funny outfits dancing to the music which made every one of us think of those memorable days of our childhood. How wonderful is childhood where we didn't have any ill feeling, we smiled at every one with out any reservations, we spoke to every one without any bias and our beloved Swami always asks us to be CHILD LIKE, innocent, loving and peaceful..The little children proved in their own capacities that they are nothing less than their big brothers and every item in the afternoon session was magnificient..The final part

of the evening session was that of sisters of Anantapur, who were infact a step ahead of the their brothers in all ways. If the brothers in the morning did stunts with 250 CC motor bikes, sisters did an ECOFRIENDLYact which was equally fierce. A group of sister rode the bycycle allthe way through the path in which Swami comes and they were dead fast..Then there was this UNICYCLE concept which was amazing. RIding a Unicycle is a challenge and when you are asked to ride hand in hand with others then the CHALLENGE becomes more CHALLENGING and sisters,mindful of the fact that their beloved Lord, whom they rarely get to see was actually watching them, did a very very good job. Life is a challeng Meet it says our Lord. It is a big challenge to perform on such a big occassion when LOrd HImself is watching you and not to forget the thousands of devotees, parents and relatives who came specially to see them perform. One sister did

miss the balance but she left her unicycle there and helped her sister to finish the round which speaks about the strong TEAM WORK they have put for the evening.Over all when you compared the boys and girls, girls had upper hand with some minor fumbles here and there..

At the end all the sisters of anantapur came forward and sang the Sai Maa Pranama with utmost devotion and almost all of them were crying, crying for their Mother Sai, and all of them were praying for a divine visit to their campus in Anantapur..It was about 7:30 pm and Swami signalled for Arathi thus ending a most memorable day for those chosen ones and thanks to them we devotees had a 7 hour darshan of our beloved Lord..What else can we ask for????With Pranams at the Lotus feet of our beloved Lord..Satish Naik
