Bhivpuri Sai Temple - Story behind DevotionBhivpuri village, situated in between Badlapur and Karjat Station, has the rare honour of having the first ever temple of Shirdi Sai Baba. The temple was built in 1916Posted On Sunday, May 03, 2009 at 02:25:53 PM by Nasser Lalljee            A brief ten-minute walk from Bhivpuri Road station takes you to the beautiful Sai Temple which was built in Sai Baba's time by the Late

Keshavrao Pradhan in 1916. The structure was reconstructed

in 1954 making it more concrete from a simple brick structure that it was.Keshavrao was an agnostic and always ignored invitations to visit Shirdi and visit Shri Sai Baba in the days that Baba walked there in flesh and blood.Recalls Vilas Pradhan, the grandson of the late Keshavrao, "My grandfather was working with a firm in Bombay for which he had to travel to Nasik, Kopergaon, Shirdi and Ahemadnagar area. He used to frequently tour these areas with his friend.Once when both of them were in Shirdi and as usual Keshavrao's friend went for Sai Baba's darshan while Keshavrao remained in his room. Baba asked his friend to call Keshavrao. Keshavrao agreed to accept the invitation on one condition that he would not bow before Baba (for namaskar). When my grandfather first set eyes upon Shri

Sai Baba, he felt his divinity. This created such an impact that his skepticism was overcome by complete devotion and faith."He goes on, "The very first sight of Baba made him forget everything and he just kept on staring at Baba, who asked him to give him all the money that he was carrying as Dakshina. He had  Rs 2000, which he had collected from his firm's clients, and without any hesitation he handed the entire amount to Baba."He suddenly realised that now he had no money to purchase his return ticket to Bombay. To his utter surprise, a stranger readily agreed to help him with a ticket and Keshavrao assured him that he would return the money to him by money order and noted down the stranger's address.â€After coming back to Bhivpuri, Keshavrao realised what had happened and had no courage to return to work as he had no money to deposit the collected amount, and therefore posted a sick leave application to his office. After

some days the office deputed one of his close friends to visit Keshavrao's house and enquire about his health. The friend found that Keshavrao was in normal health and asked him the reason for not resuming his duties.Keshavrao gave him all the details of what had transpired and confessed that he did not have the courage to face anybody and had decided to sit quiet for a while and think about the next course of action.Keshavrao's astonishment went sky high when his friend informed him that the entire amount of Rs 2000 had been deposited long back by someone.Adding to Keshavrao's predicament, the money order to the stranger's addresses also returned back with a remark that there is no such person on the address given. This strengthened Keshavrao's faith in Baba and he became an ardent devotee of Shri Sai Baba. From then, he made it a point to go often to Shirdi for Baba's darshan and every time he used to beg Baba to come to

Ukrool (Keshavrao's residence). After listening to his oft repeated request, Shri Sai Baba one day picked up a replica which was given to him by a devotee and handed over to him and said, "Go back to your home, construct a temple near your house and install this statue there. I will always remain near you. And do not come back to Shirdi." This happened in the year 1916.After that event, Keshavrao revisited Shirdi, but was admonished by Shri Sai Baba who said, "When I have come to your house, why are you here? Your own place is Shirdi for you now!" Baba ordered him to go back but also promised him that he would visit him at midnight of a particular day. Baba kept his promise and appeared near his house on that midnight and fulfilled the desire of Keshavrao. The place where Baba appeared at midnight is now is covered by a Tulsi Brindavan, which was constructed to keep the sanctity of the place. After this visit, Keshavrao never

returned to Shirdi and finally left this world in 1939.The temple is surrounded by a quiet and beautiful countryside which is very quiet, completely suitable to the Saintly Sai Baba. Source - http://www.mumbaipluses.com/DombivaliKalyanplus/index.aspx?page=article & sectid=2 & contentid=2009050320090504142553808a7487830 & sectxslt= & comments=true#"I don't Know What Tomorrow Holds, but I do Know Who Holds Tomorrow."Holder - roHit beHal
