It actually means something different. The heart is physical and hrudayam is spiritual. A heart transplant can be done but not a transplantation of hrudayam. The heart is present towards the left side of the human body, about the size of the fist. But the spiritual heart is present all over. The physical heart functions at the level of the body, while the hrudayam is beyond the body.
