What is religion? Is it something to follow or something that needs to

be experienced? I believe Shri Sai taught us that religion is

something to be experienced... to be felt... something that takes us

to a plane much higher than the mundane. The plane of spirituality...

reaching which we see no difference between each other and start

seeing the power of ONE divided into MANY.

Shri Sai lived life on this higher plane and never once responded to

any question about his caste or creed or religion. So, as his

followers our first practical step would be to throw out our

differences and embrace each other as we would when told that we are

all subsisting in HIM. We are a part of HIM and believing thus we

would be doing grave injustice to a fellow human if we were

responsible for causing him any pain.

At another level, if we see the ONE in the form of MANY, we will never

again fall prey to petty feelings of jealousy, envy, anger etc that

results in our judgments getting more clouded. We will always strive

for the best and ditch this mediocrity that as a nation we seem to be

happy with. Lord Krishna had said in the Bhagavad Gita that Yoga is

excellence at work or " Yogaha Karmasu Kaushalam " . I beseech all of you

to have this sentence placed on your work desks and remember that

every work has to be done with a view to excelling in it. That is Yoga

and that is the surefire path to salvation.

May Lord Sai bless us on our path to excellence.
