Yesterday night, Sai appeared in the form of a person clad in pure white attire and said- 1. I am the musical exponent to sing for your pleasure and happiness. 2. I am the person to take you to the destination and assure to be by your side always. Sai pulls the strings need based. 30-04-1996. Today, the Angiogram reports have arrived. Three of the arteries had 90 % blockages. It was concluded by Dr. Srinivasa Rao that by pass surgery has to be performed for the correction. MAY-1996 01-05-1996 I have looked towards Sai’s advice whether I should undergo Bypass surgery as suggested by the doctors or not. Yesterday night Sai appeared a gardener and said- There is a big mound of mud in the garden of your house as a result of which rainwater is not seeping in to the ground. Let new pipes be laid for water to flow inwards. Give up eating non-vegetarian food henceforth. I thus got answer for my query. Obstacles in the path have to be removed. Significance of Meditation Preliminaries to Meditation Mediation is the name for a period of rest provided for the busy and wayward mind. The Vasanas i.e. recollection of past experiences, influences the thought process, i.e. the mind plays the time and body acts out the role thru five senses of Karma Indriyas. Detachment of the mind from the sense objects as well as the relief from the consequent mental agitation, are essential for success in meditation. We must be vigilant, never lose our temper, avoid pride, and tendency of fault finding of others. A sense of joy is necessary for concentration and meditation. What is Samadhi Sthiti? Samadhi is not a state of unconsciousness. The correct meaning of Samadhi is the state in which the intellect has achieved equanimity. If we maintain an equal mind whether we are in pleasure or pain is Samadhi. That is the real fruit of Samadhi. The motto of meditation is: i) When we are silent, we talk best; ii) When our eyes are closed, we see the best; iii) When our ears are shut, we hear the best; iv) When our mind is at rest, we think the best. To be continued……….. ----------------------------- 5. IN THE DAYS OF SHRI SHIRDI SAIBABA BABA cured T.B of Mrs. Malan Bai – Daughter of Shri D.R.Joshi Devgaonkar Mrs.. Malanbai, daughter of Shri D.R. Joshi Devogaonkar has suffered from T.B. After all medicines having failed, she insisted on her being taken to Shirdi. When brought to Shirdi, Baba asked her to lie down on a blanket and take nothing, but water. She carefully followed these instructions but after a week or so, she died on one early morning. Baba was then in Chawadi and for the first time in Shirdi History; Baba did not leave Chawadi though it was past 8 A.M. The daughter’s parents, with heavy hearts were preparing for the funeral when Malanbai appeared to breathe, opened her eyes and looked round about as if much frightened. Then she said, “A black person had been carrying me away, very much frightened, I cried out to Baba for help. Baba took His Satka and gave him good cuddling snatched me a way and carried me to Chawadiâ€. She gave a correct description of Chawadi. Just at this time, Baba left His Chawadi bed bawling out striking His satka against the ground and came shouting to Dixit wada where the girl had put up; seeing Malanbai restored to life, there was joy al round. Is it not the greatest of all the supernatural powers of Baba (Giving life to the dead)? Baba converted Shri Venkata Rao Shri VenkatRao of Mulki, South Kanara was in receipt of one Baba’s photo in the year 1916. His son-in-law was serving as an advocated in the High court. All on a sudden he disappeared from the house and news also came to the effect that he was dead. Shri VenkataRao searched him but in vain. He made a through search in all the places familiar to him. A friend of him told him that he should first go to Shirdi and take darshan of Shri SaiBaba.. But Baba’s photo and udi were available at Bombay during X-mas time. He completely surrendered to Baba’s photo. At this particular time, his daughter at Mulki felt a Divine change in her person. This was written by her to her father about his worship in any of the place of the Divinity. He replied that at that time, he had surrendered completely to Shri Sai Baba’s photo. From this time, he used to pray Baba when ever he was in calamity and got over the same by the grace of Baba. After some days, he fell unconscious; he has been to Baba with two others, by his side. He overlooked the obstruction of two persons and went through and messaged the legs of Baba. Afterwards all the three disappeared. In 1918, when he had gone to Shirdi he met Baba along with the same two persons by his side whom he met in his unconscious state. The main feature of this is that son of Shri K.VenkataRao, who is criticizer of Divinity began to worship Baba after this incident. ---------------------------- NEWS FROM SAIDARBAR – HYDERABAD admin Tuesday, 4 November, 2008, 11:45 AM Enjoy Radio Shirdi Sai on http://www.sairadio.blogspot.com/ --------------- 6. DEVOTEES EXPERIENCES: Dear Saibandhus, I would like to narrate to you the experience when I was first blessed with the love of Sai Baba. After a lot of struggle, I got a job in Shaw Wallace and Company. It was a fantastic job with lots of perks and other benefits. I was thrilled as this was my first job and that too in such a big company. But when I received my appointment letter, to my utter dismay I found that I was posted to Gauhati. Being a resident of Calcutta, I could not move out at that time as my father was suffering from cancer and being the only child I had to stay by his side. We had a Mandir of Baba in our locality. In the evening that day out of sheer depression, I went to the Mandir and told Baba about my unpleasant situation. The next day I went to the company to tell that I was not ready for the job but I was astonished to find a revised appointment letter posting me back to Calcutta. I could not believe this, but this was a reality. Later I heard that the General Manager was so impressed with my interview that he wanted me to work with him in Calcutta, otherwise he threatened to resign. This was the first incident I had with Baba and I continued to receive His blessings till now. Kaushik Roy Chowdhury, Source: Saidarbar files: --------------- 7. SAI WITH CHILDREN: http://www.saidarbar.org/HTML/portraits/7.jpg Smt. Madhu Gopal Ravada, Saidarbar, Hyderabad. Hello Children! I am Madhu aunty. Do you know Baba use to play with children and used to tell stories to them? I felt children visiting Saidarbar should be entertained with good stories. Now I want to tell the stories what heard in my child hood. THE PROUD PEACOCK: Once, a proud peacock lived in a forest by the side of a lake. Every day he would go to the lake. There he would open his beautiful, colourful feathers and preen them with his beak and beautified himself. Then he would see his reflection in the lake water and admire his own beauty. One day, a white crane came to live by the lake. The peacock thought, “Oh! A new visitor is here to stay. I must go and introduce my self to him. After all, he must know that a beautiful peacock is his neighbour.†So, the peacock walked with a pompous gait to the lake side. The crane was busy catching fish for lunch. The peacock began his daily ritual. He went near the water and spread out his gorgeous feathers for display. Then he preened them with his beak, beautified himself and looked into the water. He felt very proud at his colourful reflection. Then, with pride, he turned his head towards the crane and addressed him, “Hello, Mr. Crane! So you are my new neighbour. Welcome to the forest.†“Thank you so much, Mr. Peacock,†the crane said. Then the peacock continued, “Mr. Crane, I was wondering how you feel with the plain with white feathers. They are so simple to look at and do not add to your appearance at all.†The Crane smiled at the peacock. He flew in the air and landed by the peacock’s side. Then the crane said, “Feathers and wings are given to us so that we can fly. No doubt, your feathers are very beautiful but, they are of no use because you cannot fly with them for long. I would rather have simple and useful wings than showy and useless ones like yours.†At this moment, the peacock got speechless. He went a way ashamed without a word. After that day, he never preened his feathers to show off to others. ------------- 8. SPIRITUAL GEMS FROM SAI SATCHARITRA swamymain Fri, Dec 26, 2008 at 12:11 AM Shri Sai Satcharitra Chapter XXXII In Quest of Guru and God - Fasting Disapproved. In this Chapter Hemadpant describes two things:- (1) How Baba met His Guru in the woods, and through him God; and (2) How Baba made one Mrs. Ghokhale, who had made up her mind to fast for three days, eat Puran-Polis. SSG: Sai Ram. This chapter, like the others before and those to follow is entertaining and at the same time, instructional. Sai Ram. SSS: Preliminary In the beginning, Hemadpant describes the samsara (visible world) by the allegory of Ashvattha (Banyan) tree which has, in the phraseology of the Geeta, roots above and branches below. Its branches are spread downwards and upwards and are nourished by the gunas (qualities), and its sprouts are the objects of the senses. Its roots, leading to actions, are extended downwards to this world of men. Its form cannot be known in this world, nor its end, its beginning nor its support. Cutting this Ashvattha tree of strong roots with the sharp weapon of detachment; one should seek the path beyond, treading which there is no return. SSG: Sai Ram. Though it is compared to a tree, it is more like a veritable forest. And for a small insect like an ant, the tree and all its roots are like forest and it is easy to lose one’s way! Sai Ram. SSS: For traversing this path, the help of a good guide (Guru) is absolutely necessary. However learned a man may be, or however deep his study of Vedas and Vedangas (sacred literature) may be, he cannot go to his destination safe. If the guide be there to help him and show him the right way, he would successfully avoid the pitfalls and the wild beasts on the journey, and everything will be smooth-sailing. Baba's experience in this matter, the story which He gave out Himself, is really wonderful, which, when attended to, will give you faith, devotion and salvation. SSG: Sai Ram. The wild beasts are all different facets of one’s ego.. Reading of the scriptures has the effect of strengthening of one’s ego! Then we need a Guru, Who pricks our bubbles of pride and ego and thus sets us on the right path again. The story given below is wonderful. Sai Ram. ARTICLES FROM SAI DEVOTEES SAI’S ADVICE TO GRUHASTHAS Sairam, In the chapter-13 of Sri Sai Satcharita, Baba appeared as a teacher in the dream of Bhimaji patil suffering from TB, and asked him to recite a poem. Baba thrashed him with a cane and made him to recite. The meaning of the poem is : A good housewife while going to others place should feel like stepping on a snake, She should talk less like a miser, keep her husband happy and in good humor even if they do not have money. Baba thus made Bhimaji patil to speak out the virtues of a good house wife. (We can find in the original Marathi version of Sri Sai Satcharita by Hemadripanth regarding conduct of a housewife.) In Sai Satcharita, even husband's responsibilities are conveyed. A man should not develop too much attachment towards his wife. We can understand this conclusion from chapter-27 f Sri Sai Satcharita. Kaparde was a bar-at-law, well known Lawyer from Amraoti and a member of Delhi Bar council. He was a good orator and a well to do man, but he was deeply in love with his wife. The couple visited Shirdi to have Baba's darshan; Baba gave permission for Kaparde to leave Shirdi after four months, whereas Kaparde's wife was permitted to leave Shirdi after seven months. Later Kaparde's wife died before him. Baba told Kaparde that one should treat his wife with respect and treat her as a friend while practicing detachment. When father is ill, the son is duty bound to look after his father. This we come to know from chapter-34 of Sri Sai Satcharita. A gentleman from Hardha was 80 yrs old and was suffering from urinary tract problem. His son instead of leaving him to his fate approached Sai, took Udhi and mixed up with water gave it to his father. The stone in the tract disintegrated and was ejected out. In this way a son worked towards his father's well being. Let us discuss the responsibility of elders towards their children. Children are bound to commit mistakes. Elders should pardon them and should not develop vengeance towards their children. In chapter-35 of Sri Sai Satcharita, we come across this incident. An elderly person died. To take revenge on his son, He used to appear daily in the dreams of his son and abuse him. Baba understood the problem of the son and gave him the Udhi, and asked him to apply on his forehead before going to sleep. Thus we come to know that elders should bless their children and not curse them. In this way Sai Satcharita has underlined the 'Gruhasthasrama dharma' to be followed. We should all follow them and earn the blessings of Lord Sainath. We can get more information from Saibanisa's discourses on “SAI'S ADVICE TO GRUHASTHASâ€.
