SAI RAM Brother,

You seem to have quoted the translation of the first verse of Gyana-Karma Yoga of the Gita as extracted from " Bagavad Gita as it is " by Prabhupada. Perhaps, while reading through the commentary on that verse by Prabhupada you seem to have entertained these doubts. Creation of the Universe , it is accepted even by modern science, started with the Sun. As the source of all energy, the Sun was the first of the created objects, and with its very creation, the Great Knowledge of the Self was given out to the world. Sun is only one for the entire Universe. All the plantets are part of the solar system. They orbit around the Sun. As regards separate Gods for each planet, can you say which are the planets other than earth where human beings are living? The question as to who are their Gods can be answered only by those who are worshipping those gods. It would not be adviseable to raise one`s doubts after reading a single commentary on Gita as it will lead you nowhere. There are a number eminent sages, saints, philosophers and scholars who have writen commentary on each sloka of Gita. Pl.go through them also. It is possible that You may get answers to your doubts from their commentaries.

With Loving SAI RAMs,

G.Balasubramanian

Dear Sairam brothers/sisters,I'm reading Bhagavad Gita for the first time and feeling little bit hard to accept the interpretation of verse 4.1. " The Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna, said: I instructed this imperishable science of yoga to the sun-god, Vivasvan, and Vivasvan instructed it to Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu in turn instructed it to Ikshavaku. "

If I have to accept the interpretation as it is,then do I need to believe that we have GODS(sun-god) for each planet? why there are GODS only for our solar system and not for millions of other planets in this universe? If there are gods for those planets too, what is their purpose?

Sairam..

Swami has said that there is life in other parts of the universe as well. there are other suns as well. and since God is one , they have the same role in the entire universe as they have for our tiny plane of existence.Rajendra Shirhatti <r.shirhatti wrote: Dear Sairam brothers/sisters,I'm reading Bhagavad Gita for the first time and feeling little bit hard to accept the interpretation of verse 4.1."The Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna, said: I instructed this imperishable science of yoga to the sun-god,
