Guru asked "Do you see the fern and the bamboo trees around here?" "Yes," came the reply. "When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet the bamboo took years to sprout." The sishya wasn't quite following the logic. Guru continued, "Compared to the fern, the bamboo was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to thrive." The sishya dared to ask a direct question, "what does this have to do with my situation?" Guru replied "God would not give any of His creations a challenge they could not handle. Give Him glory by rising as high as you want....but grow your roots first!" -----------------Let the roots of faith and patience begin to grow, and things will happen fast! OM SAI RAM!
