DIVINE MESSAGE OF THE SACRED RAKSHA BANDHAN

The Rakhi is tied to the hand and the hand signifies the Karma or the

actions we do. We do our actions more by hand than anything

else. " Our hands are tied " - people say when they can't do certain

things. The Rakhi ties us or inhibits us from doing the wrong acts.

Let the hand tied with the sacred Rakhi always involve in noble

deeds.

The hand has been " tied " and the thread is with the Supreme. This

is the meaning of the " Bandhan " or the bondage. We are safe with our

thread of life in the hands of the Supreme Father. Supreme is the

only protector and no one else. The meaning of protection

is " Abstaining from wrong doing " . This can be possible only with the

help of Knowledge and Realisation. Everyone in this world needs

protection. We are under the Shelter of one Supreme Father and that

is the Real Protection.

The brother-sister relation represents Divinity. This virtue is

also required in all our relationships. The festival reminds us to

discover Divinity in our relationships. A Divine Relation is formed

out of true love, trust, faith, selflessness and cleanliness.

The Rakhi thread symbolizes the Purity, Peace and Prosperity. The

knot represents the commitment for the divine cause. The flower

represents Divine Virtues, which we have to inculcate in our lives.
