Guest guest
Jai Sairam. You hit right on the nail, this time. Just because you are in company of a realized soul does not guarantee eligibility to receive grace. Prasad Nimmagadda <nvprasad To: Shiridi Sai Group eChat Of The Week: EligibilityWed, 8 Aug 2007 15:41:19 -0700 (PDT) Dear Sai Devotees, In this week's eChat, we will read about the high standards Gurus apply in deciding if a disciple is eligible to receive grace.... -------------------------- One sishya spent years with Buddha following him like a shadow and being with him. Buddha used to visit several homes daily to gather food, but he never went to this sishya's house. The sishya stubbornly insisted that Buddha should come to his house the next day. Buddha agreed. Next day around noon, Buddha showed up at the house. Sishya was ready with wonderful dishes to offer in Buddha's bowl. When Buddha extended his begging bowl, the sishya realized there was dirt and mud in the bowl and asked how he can place wonderful dishes on top of the mud. Buddha replied "just as you hesitate to place food items in a dirty bowl, guru also hesitates to shower grace on those that are not pure and ready." Though Buddha's words were harsh, the sishya realized that he needs to clean the mess in his self before his Guru will grace him. -------------------------- Just because you are in company of a realized soul does not guarantee eligibility to receive grace. Remember the goats, snake, frog and such animals in Sai Satcharita? They once were in company of Sai....but could not achieve His grace. OM SAI RAM! Fussy? Opinionated? Impossible to please? Perfect.
