Guest guest
Seeing the discussion on temples of Kerala, I thought I'd add my bit here. The structural construction rules as well as other rules regarding pooja, procedures to be folowed etc followed my most temples in Kerala have been laid out by none other than PARASHURAMA. Lord Vishnu's avatar before Shri Ram. As the legend, goes, PARASHURAMA created Kerala by reclaiming land from the sea, by throwing his axe. Then he brought Bhramins from various parts of the country and advised them to take care of the land and gave them strict instructions on the procedures of TANTRA. These are very unique to Kerala Bhramins.. which again proves the PARASHURAMA story. Also you may note that the typical SHAIVA-VISHNAVA divide is absolutely absent in Kerala. You will find Shiva, Vishnu and Shakti Temples all over the place, and many times you will find that both Shiva and Vishnu dieties are installed in the same temples and people pray before both with same respect.
