Guest guest
Here are some of the hints given by Sri Swamiji in the prayer hall of Mysore ashram on April 18, 2009. His Holiness said that we should get up between 4 – 5 o'clock in the morning. Start your day by drinking 4 glasses of water. Besides Kriya/ Hatha Yoga go for a morning walk in a fast pace. (many people in the ashrama practice this) It is a must if you want to feel physically and mentally fit during the day. You should consume 10 glasses of water which equals 2 – 3 litres daily. Drink less coffee and tea, use less sugar. Eat only small quantities, no hot, pungent food. Use only very very little oil. These hints changed my life. Ever since I drink more water and improved my health significantly. By following these advices I regained my ideal bodyweight of the 1980´s. Drinking a lot of water helps to purify the whole system and balances our metabolism which plays a vital role in keeping a good health. Health is wealth and a very important requirement for spiritual Sadhana. If we are suffer obesity, we easily fall asleep during meditation and other practices. If you eat a rich meal in the late night just before sleep the problems start. People really eat too late in the evening. Our body cannot regenerate properly in the night and develops heavy imbalance. It is also a main reason for gaining excess weight. In my last email my I may have offended some people. This was not my intention. I am sorry for that. I love India. Gita, Upanishads and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are sublime. The great treasures of wisdom come from this sacred land. Modern science just finds out what the ancient Rishis already knew. Fortunately some people live according to these ancient treasures.
