Guest guest
In a wonderful book of Baba's writings called Baba - The Breath of Sai, Compiled by Grace J. Mc Martin, Baba speaks about AUM. He gives instructions for the AUM recital on Page 12 of this wonderful book: " The Om Recital The Om recital is laid down at the Prasanti Nilayam that the early dawn recital of OM should last twenty one times. This number is not arbitrarily fixed; it has a significance of its own. We have 5 senses of action and the 5 senses of perception, we have also the 5 vital airs to sustain us. Again, we have the 5 sheaths, enclosing the Divine Spark that is the Reality. These total up to 20. So, the recitation of OM twenty one times purifies and clarifies all of these 20 components and makes man the 21st entity, ready for the final merger with the REALITY... Finally, you end the OM recital with the recital of peace three times. That, too, completes the process of clarification and purification. For the first call for Peace is for the purity of the body part of the Self. The second is for the purity of the second part, the mind. The third is for the purification of the Spiritual. This OM recital will tone you up and calm all agitations in the mind and quicken the downpour of Grace. " Baba has blessed me with sight through the third eye. There is a wonderful treatment that complements the OM that I have performed thousands of times. It is a treatment of the subtle energy bodies to align the 5 sheaths with the Causal body - the subtle body of the Higher Self. Baba frequently will bring groups of Doctors to the sessions I do. They come to the sessions on the Causal level not on the physical level. I am in Canada and they are in India. While I am working He will explain to the Doctors what is being done and the significance of it in relationship to the OM which permeates all levels of our being. Since I read this little book many many years ago - I have practiced the OM Recital as given by Baba and it is a wonderful experience of His grace as are his visits with the Doctors.
