Guest guest
It is said (Yajur Veda): Ata Nityo Narayanaha, Brahma Narayanaha, Sivascha Narayanaha, Kalascha Narayanaha. Disascha Narayanaha, Vidisascha Narayanaha, Urdwamscha Narayanaha, Adhascha Narayanaha, Antar-bahischa-Narayana.Narayana Eh Vedam Sarvam, Yat BhootamYacchha Bhavyam.Nish-kalango Niranjano Nirvikalpo Nirakyadhas shudho Deva Eko Narayanaha, Na dviteeyosthi kaschit ya evam Vedas Vishnu reva Bhavati, Sa Vishnureva Bhavathi, Etat yajur veda sirodeeyathe. Narayana is eternal (beginningless, endless), Brahma comes from Narayana, Siva comes from Narayana, Time itself comes from Narayana. Up, down, and all around is nothing but Narayana. Inside and outside is Narayana. Narayana is what has happened, what is happening and what will happen. Narayana is the only God who is blemishless, stainless, odorless, endless and who cannot be described. When Narayana is there, there is no other second. He who knows this, becomes himself Lord Vishnu. Thus is the conclusion of the Yajur Veda. Mounam is not possible for one who is not devoted to Sri Hari/Hara. Speech is not possible for one who is absorbed in the bliss of Self awareness. The only " Antu " is a mind that is not rooted firmly to SatGuru's holy feet. Such a distracted mind is a victim to all sorts of diseases. It is SatGuru's feet alone that liberate one from such diseases. The real sudra is one who allows his mind to be sullied by the world. Such a person is truly untouchable, despicable, and infects the world with his poisonous reactionary thoughts. Thoughts, in ignorance of the Self, are filth, and will eventually destroy the one who dwells on them. Thoughts, in full awareness of the Self, are in fact the very light of grace. SatGuru is none other than one's Self. The inward turned mind remains in communion with SatGuru, while the outward facing mind remains deluded. The only real brahmin is one who remains in communion with Hari/Hara even if they clean toilets for a living. Such a person though by 'caste' may be untouchable, is a truly a Holy one whose feet are fit to be worshipped. The social caste system was created by Man for selfish purposes. The real caste system, designated by the varying grades/temperaments of mind that individuals possess, was instituted by Sri Hari himself and is inherent in one's innate nature, and is not dictated by one's birth. It was SadaShiva in the form of a Chandala that instructed Sri Adi Sankaracharya on the Advaitic principle, as an example to the masses that one should absorb knowledge and Truth from both the High as well as the Low, if one is serious about Truth. Dakshinamurthy was a child of sixteen, yet he instructed the Seven Sages (Sapta Rishis) on the nature of the highest Brahman. Dattatreya learned from birds, trees, dogs, and snakes, ....etc. etc. (24 main teachers). Dharma is the rational (/reasonable) performance of one's duty irrespective of circumstance. Vishnu is known as the upholder of Dharma. Dharma is the 'natural order' - the laws of nature, as well as the laws that exist for the social good, etc. Apples always fall down, not up. That is the Sanaatana Dharma, instituted by Sri Hari at the very beginning of creation. There is another kind of dharma, that of the social order: Those who abide by these laws and uphold them, will always be supported by Sri Hari unfailingly. One who performs their duties according to the dictates of reason will never experience defeat; though they may be set with ocassional setbacks in the process of learning. By steps supported by reason one will without doubt reach the intended goal. It is Vishnu's judgement alone that makes him ever victorious. One who listens (Arjuna) to the ditctates of reason (Krishna), giving up (small self) selfishness, pride, and ego, shall be victorious in any battle. Karma is simply the consequence of past choices and actions: There is no escape from one's Karma. However, by praying to Hara, one can be freed from the negative reactions to such Karma. Neelakanta swallows the poisonous by product of such ill karma: Kama (Excessive Desire), Krodha (Excessive Anger), Lobha (Excessive Greed). In proportionate quantities, these things are necessary in a productive life, in mega doses, they will end you. You alone can judge the extent to which you will allow these to infect your mind. From the Bhagavad Gita: Arjuna listened intently and with steady attention to all this. Then he queried: " Mâdhava! You said that it is the inherent quality of nature that distinguishes these two. Which qualities make for âsuric and which for daivi natures? Please clarify. " Verse 1-3. s'rî-bhagavân uvâca abhayam sattva-sams'uddhir jñâna-yoga-vyavasthitih dânam damas' ca yajñas' ca svâdhyâyas tapa ârjavam ahimsâ satyam akrodhas tyâgah s'ântir apais'unam dayâ bhûteshv aloluptvam mârdavam hrîr acâpalam tejah kshamâ dhritih s'aucam adroho nâtimânitâ bhavanti sampadam daivîm abhijâtasya bhârata [to verse 1] (1) fearlessness (2) purity of emotions (3) awareness of the unity of all creation (4) charity (compassionate) (5) control of the senses (6) sacrifice (7) study (8) asceticism (9) straightforwardness. [to verse 2] (10) nonviolence (11) integrity (12) equanimity, absence of anger or resentment (13) detachment (14) inner peace (15) refraining from scandal-mongering and talking ill of others (16) sympathy (17) absence of greed (18) sweetness and softness of speech (19) fear of adharmic acts (20) absence of fluctuation in the mind. [to verse 3] (21) courage during disaster, patience and fortitude (22) steadiness (23) cleanliness (24) harmlessness (25) humility. These twenty-five holy qualities are the traits of daivi sampath, the divine endowment. " Verse 4. dambho darpo 'bhimânas' ca krodhah pârushyam eva ca ajñânam câbhijâtasya pârtha sampadam âsurîm 'Pride, pomp, vanity, anger, harshness and absence of discrimination are the components of the âsuric endowment of man. Persons having these qualities are infused with the âsuric character. Though for all outward appearance they may be humans, they do not deserve that name. Those who have the aforesaid qualities are known as men with divine parts; those who have the âsuric attributes are known as dânva-mânavas, demonic humans.' - Gîtâ Vahini, p. 215 Pray to that great Lord Hara to make you worthy to find the Holy feet of Sri Hari. 100 years is not much time... economically speaking, time, interestingly enough, is always in short supply, making it infinitely valuable... stop wasting it dwelling on useless things... it's always *your* choice.
