Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, Here is a report on Appaji's Dallas visit. I have also sent a separate email with picture links from the public events. If you do not receive them let me know. I will also upload the Saturday morning 40 minute public discourse in English to Ram's site shortly. Per the previous email I hope you had a chance to hear Appaji's English interview. If anyone has a copy of the Telugu discourse please share. This trip of Appaji's was very special. Thank you Dallas. ------------------------- Friday morning brought hope, joy and excitement to the hundreds of devotees gathered in Dallas eagerly awaiting the Darshan of Sathgurudeva. As the sun shines forth bringing warmth and life to all, Appaji’s visit and public event brought great solace, peace and cheer to all Datta devotees. At about 2:00 p.m. the airport wore a festive look as the devotees decked in vastram, flowers in hand adorning a beautiful smile united as one Datta family. At around 5:00pm Appaji arrived after making a short stop in Oklahoma. Having Darshan of Appaji felt like drinking divine nectar and his divine smile and charm reminded us of spring breeze during the hot summer season. Appaji's trip was short and had only 2 public events. Saturday morning for Datta devotees and Saturday evening for devotees and the public in general. Saturday morning all the devotees gathered at the soon to be constructed Dallas temple site. Appaji was as eager to meet and address the devotees as we were keen to hear Him. It appeared that Sri Swamiji was so delighted to see the devotees, keeping in mind the short time we had, he poured out his heart and shared many a thought for us to absorb and learn. He recommended to - Follow the Guru with Faith in God. He asked us to remember that we rent this planet. This body and all it possesses are not ours when we leave. Instead focus on " Who am I? " The times are such that there is more confusion, pain and disappointment. He talked about Achara, Vichara and Vihara and how to overcome them. He suggested silent meditation on AUM kara. The limitations of Moha and the need to keep it in control. Sathguru's Grace and need to perform Karma to resolve accumulated karma. He moved on to talk about an insect - " Brahmara " and drew a parallel to sathguru. Always thinking about his shishyas and wanting to confer same bliss that he is experiencing. He is Chitapah not vitapah. he is always thinking abut your mind and karma. He takes care of this through different paths - shaktipath, upadesha patha, mantra pahta etc. He clarified that Sathguru Grace should not be confused with material success. It must result in inner transformation. Material success is only incidental. Hence he often recommends action - homa, donations etc to remove accumulated karma. Similar to a speciaised doctor performing various tests before choosing treatment. He elaborated richly on the importance of clearing Karma. Only them Sri Swamiji will give upadesham. He talked on Him karma too to take care of us. He made a play of words - " Are you swayed in my charm - or - am I swayed by your charm? - affection, love and karma. " He encouraged us to maintain the same love and affection. We have to payoff our Karma debts in this service of Hanumanta temple. Hanumanta means vayu or prana. Appaji spoke about his ishta, jnana, kshetra and aradhana murti. He is very pleased that as simple devotees, we will still be united and together pay off the loans and support by body, mind and spirit in the successful deveopment of the Temple. Thus we can achieve Tri-Karana shuddhi. He offered all devotees to come in his ship with Sathguru as the Caption in our designated seats. Do offer your best or move on. Don't accumulate sins. The talk reminded me aware of how my SathGuru while himself immersed in Ananda is so acutely aware ands concerned of the situation of each of his devotees. He blessed with Datta and Hanumantas Grace the temple construstion will be completed easily. He reminded us of all the CDs and DVDs available on Hanumanta by Appaji. He reiterated that this is " Guru's project " not just " Dallas devotees project " . With the firm thought that " Appaji knows everything " do daily hanumanta puja and support this project. He explained his plans about365 homas over next 365 days, next project on new school. Social work and rituals are going on. Appaji continues to use this money towards this project. He reminded all to attend the Guru Poornima celebrations and concert on Jul 18th and 19th. This would be 99th world trip and 99th concert. The 100th concert and 100th tour is in Singapore. He finally described the properties of Emerald and the significance of Emerald Hanumanta for America - the wellbeing, success, health and prosperity of America. He suggested renting a trailor and performing Hanuman Puja every Saturday in the meanwhile. On Saturday evening Dr. Rao spoke about dear Appaji as introduction to the numerous new devotees who were meeting Sri Swamiji for the first time. Sri Brahmadeo Swamiji shared his experience of Sri Swamiji as Hanumanta. Sri Swamiji again explained the importance and gradation of Karma, Bhakti and Jnana yoga, Appaji then held an auction at the release of the Graha stuti CD. The winner of the auction Shirisha Bavireddy received an eka mukha rukraksha pendanat. Appaji also presented Pasma Krishnaiyah for her planning and organizing of varius Bharatanatyam programmes and collecting $30,000 for the temple. Lakshmi gave the closing speech. A very happy Swamiji then gave darshan to all devotees and thus closed the public event. Appaji arrived at the airport around 3:00pm on Sunday and left for UK. It was a wonderful, unexpected bonus to cherish. It was uniquely personal and full of instructions.Dallas devotees were very welcoming and the program was well organized. Sri Guru Datta. ________________ Looking for the perfect gift? Give the gift of Flickr! http://www.flickr.com/gift/
