Guest guest
Namaskar Ashhish, Hindus from strict backgrounds, Brahmin backgrounds, strict Vaishnava backgrounds, etc do not wear rudraksha when consuming alcohol, smoking or chewing tobacco or kaini. During social occasions they take off their rudrakshas, place them in a pouch and pin the pouch to the pokcket for carrying. Alternatively they place the rudrakshas on the altar. Afterwards, they wear the rudrkashas again. Those who are tantrikas, sadhus, certain swamis, certain Shaktas, and Smarta Hindus (Liberal Hindus) continue to wear rudrakshas while eating meat, drinking alcohol or chewing tobacco.
