If one is truly interested in progressing spiritually, one must become nothing

and nobody within themselves. One must lose one's sense of self-importance.

Otherwise, the mind will not shake off its attachments. The mind should be made

transparent so that one can let go of that which must be surrendered.

So long as the concern over 'the other' persists, the ego cannot be transcended.

The sense of 'other' perpetuates one's false identification with the body. To

transcend the ego has nothing to do with behaving 'egolessly' - it is absolute

non-identification (the state of the witness).

One who is interested in the Truth must give up all pride and vanity in order to

gain true knowledge. If these are not surrendered, the biased perspective

persists and veils the Truth from shining forth.

Many people lose interest in true knowledge when they discover the price tag.

They are window shoppers.

Swamiji provides many opportunities for pride-less, self-less, credit-less,

thank-less, benefit-less seva - people should not waste their opportunity.

As this past wknd was easter Sunday, the following quote comes to mind...

" Whoever does not carry his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. " ~

Jesus (Datta)
