Guest guest
I lay on my bed with feeble body thinking of my past. How strong I was during my young age. Never thought of God. I thought life is for enjoyment. Earning money for my family was my motive. And at old age I can think of God. Entering old age, my body is not co-operating with my mind and vice versa. I have wasted my life. Did God ask me to marry? Did God ask me to create wealth? He wanted me to come back to him instead of taking birth after birth. First of all why did I marry? I thought marriage is bliss. I was in fool’s paradise. Scriptures are telling me to get Vairagya first. What is *Vairagya*? Vairagya (dispassion) is renunciation from the pains and pleasures in this material world. Why one should think & crave for Vairagya? Does Vairagya means taking to sanyas (true renunciation)? Does Vairagya mean leave your spouse, children and parents? Vairagya means *detachment* from worldly pleasures (perishable nature of all objects in this world). How to detach from my family? How to detach from the small wealth that I have created for survival? I know that after death none of them will come with me. Still I am attached to my family and wealth. Why? Birth, death, daily problems, sufferings, enmity, depression, worries, etc are few type of pains one has to go throughout life in this world. This is because of the attachment one develops. To avoid this one has to develop Vairagya. First and foremost enemy is Ego. To attain vairagya, one has to remove ego. Whenever a problem creeps up in my life then I think of vairagya and not looking at solving the problem. And when the problem gets solved, I forget about vairagya. Vairagya should be of permanent nature and not of temporary. Purification of mind (Chitta suddhi) is needed. Can vairagya be attained easily? No, but I heard that through prayers or meditation, one can achieve it. What is a *prayer*? Prayer is petition to God with a wish. Efficacy of the prayer depends on motive behind the prayer. When one starts prayer he feels that God is hearing his prayers and gets relaxed. Prayer without a wish or a motive is *real prayer*. Our inability to solve our problems, we seek external help i.e. God with out ego. It is like Gajendra after fighting for 1000yrs with the crocodile and seeing that strength is not there then prayed Lord Vishnu to save him. Lord Vishnu on hearing the prayer of Gajendra without Ego came to his rescue immediately. *Meditation* means organizing & channelling one’s thoughts. With the wavering mind or sequence of thoughts, it is difficult to stay focused in the beginning. A wavering mind is like turbulent water. It is impossible to see what is there inside until water settles down. Sometimes the person gets lost in thoughts. One’s mind has to be blank away from problems, avocations etc. With wavering mind a person can not concentrate. One should be able to control the senses or thoughts coming to mind. The breathing exercises, called Pranayama (control/concentration over breathing), bring about regulation of the breathing, rhythmic action of the Prana. When the Prana is working rhythmically, everything works properly. Pranayama is the key to meditation. Through pranayama one can remove negative thoughts. Sometimes chanting of Lord’s name during meditation helps control chain of thoughts / wavering mind. It helps control the mind to a position or blank one’s mind. Yogis control their own body with pranayama. If there is problem in any part of the body they channelize the prana to that part until it is rectified. There are seven chakras in our body i.e. Muladhara, Swadhisthana, Manipura, Vishuddha, Anjna, Sahasrara. Pranayama increases the intake of cosmic/vital energy and helps energize the chakras, spiritual energy centers. It also helps balance the ida and pingala nadis, channels, thus bringing the mind under control. Practice of Meditation with Pranayama transforms the vital energy into divine love and paves a way for our spiritual passage. It forms a cosmic energy around the human body. The concentrated mind is like a light which shows the way to know about * self*. A concentrated mind is instrument to see God and God in all Human beings. Meditation brings peace to mind. We can experience bliss in meditation when we speak the language of God (Silence). Meditation helps one get vairagya. If one develops vairagya like a yogi then happiness and sufferings are one and the same. Vairagya does not mean torturing our physical body, which is a temple. Body should be under our control. Yoga thru Meditation helps body and mind to tune up. So giving little pain to the body for the sadhana is OK. But I am having hard time in controlling my thoughts. I am trying to focus on an object or chanting Lords name but my mind still wavers. So I let my mind wander. I have to do something to control this wavering mind. I pray my* SADGURU Pujya Sri Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji* to help me to control the chain of thoughts. Scriptures too say that through human service one can see God. How can I? Parents have become old. Physical dependence increases during old age. Service starts at home. I hate doing service at home because of my feeble body and reduced strength. Am I lazy? Am I neglecting them? No, I love my parents. But I do service at other places. Am I committing sin at home to earn punya at other places? *O’Lord Hanuman, I seek Jnana and physical strength to serve the living Gods (my parents) with compassion*. It does not mean that I will forget you. With a feeble body and mind, I am praying you to stay in my heart and take me to your shore from this ocean of miseries. Please give me ocean of kindness and compassion. Please give us health. Please give me mental strength to develop vairagya and continuously chant your name at all times. I am praying my* SADGURU the supreme God Pujya Sri Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji* who is Lord Dattatreya incarnate to shower his *Grace* upon me and all his devotees to reach his Lotus Feet. I ask nothing more. " Tvam vismarasi no devah drpyasi tvam natu prabhuh nindasi tvam tvamajnanam satvam premarvatissvayam " Even if you forget God, He won't forget you. Even if you blame Him due to your ignorance, He continues to love you. Even if you talk ill of Him due to your pride and ego, He protects you with love. * * * * *My Pranams to the Lotus feet of SADGURU who* *is the best relative and friend*.** .. *DATTATREYA HARE KRISHNA UNMATANANDA DAYAKA* *DIGAMBARA MUNE BALA PISHACHA JNANA SAGARA* *I am working and serving for my Sadguru.* *Sadguru is working through me.* *Sadguru alone is working.* *Without Sadguru I am nothing**.* సరà±à°µà±‡ జన à°¸à±à°–ినో à°à°µà°‚తౠ* **Sarvejana Sukhinobhavantu* * Everyone should be Happy* http://groups.google.co.inraja-rajeswari/files?hl=en
