Guest guest
Sairam! I am a regular reader of BABA's experiences posted and shared by our Sairam brothers and sisters on different sites and blogs. While reading everyday, I would just think of when my turn would come….. the day when I would share my experience and let my Sairam friends know about how BABA helped me or has come to solve my problem. So today, I hardly could control my tears and just after reaching office, I wanted to write to all my Sairam friends about my experience with BABA. (Readers please note that all throughout my writing, I shall use BABA only (not Shirdi Sai Baba). Because, for me, there is only one BABA and HE is none other than Lord Sainath Maharaj of Shirdi. So, calling HIS name again and again is just showing a sense of arrogance and so I have refrained from. Today, September 26, 2008, Friday, I started from home without a penny in my pocket for office. I was carrying my ATM card and was supposed to take some money out from the ATM. On my way, I checked the HDFC Bank ATM nearby my home. I confirmed Rs. 200/- from the ATM, but on the screen it was displayed that the Sorry, the denomination should be of Rs.500/-. As I was in a hurry, I confirmed Rs. 500/- and after taking the note, I reached the bus stand to take a bus. Soon after leaving the ATM, I was thinking that today, I shall have to face problem as I have no coin or small currency note; and the bus conductor will not allow me to travel when I will show him the Rs. 500/- note. [because, I have experienced it before also (although I was having coins and small currency notes then) when I presented a Rs. 500/- to purchase a ticket of Rs. 5/- the bus conductor asked me to get down off the bus and take another bus as he could not give me the change.] Immediately I got a bus on my route and boarded it. I was feeling that the conductor is going to shout at me as I don’t have a small currency note. As I boarded the bus, the conductor was standing just near me and he asked me to come inside. Before the conductor could ask me for ticket, I approached him and presented the Rs. 500/- note to give me a ticket of Rs. 5/-. The conductor said that he does not have change – simply and not a single word. I asked him that I will get down at Shiv Mandir stop and before that he can give me the change to buy a ticket. The conductor never came. As my stop was approaching, I went near the conductor to make sure if he has the change. Although by that time, he was having 3/4 one hundred rupees, a bunch of ten rupees and a few twenty rupees notes (I saw him holding in his hands), I urged him that now he could give me the change. But the conductor said that he has to pay somebody and needs those change. So I got down off the bus without paying anything. My office is in Noida. I have to change two buses. After getting down at South Extension crossing, I walk down up to Andrewsgunj to take a bus for Noida. As I was waiting for the bus, something else happened. A man whom I have seen only 7/8 days (whose office is also in Noida) while going to Noida in a private vehicle came near me. I have never seen that man on that stand, because, he always travels on that private vehicle. A few days (7/8 days) that I had traveled on that vehicle, I saw the man. The reason behind this is that the vehicle starts from the place where that man lives and so he takes that vehicle for going to his office in Noida. The man said me hello and shook his hand. I asked him what had happened that he is here today – where is the cab? The man said that for the last 3/4 days, he could not find that cab in his locality. And so, he has been coming to this stand for taking a bus/cab for commuting to office. I said that I too take bus/cab from here only, but did not see him before. Anyways, we had talks. A bus came and we boarded it. We sat on double seat and kept talking. The man said that he was concerned about if I was continuing my office in Noida, as because he has not seen me for a few days. He too said that I have his mobile number but still did never call him. (Here I should mention that I kept the man’s mobile number just to ask him if the vehicle was coming that day or not. The vehicle driver did not have any mobile and so I kept the man’s number. All these lasted for 7/8 days, as I said before.) I said that I don’t wait for that vehicle actually as I reach office late. I said that I come to this stand early and I find vehicles easily in the morning and also could reach office at time. The man also invited me to visit his office some day, which is just 10 minutes walking distance from my office. He asked me to call before I go. He asked me if I am married. Hearing my reply that I have a son, he asked me my son’s age. I said him that I will be on leave from 7th to 10th October as I will be going to Shirdi, on which the man smiled. One thing I would like to mention here that, I have found so much kindness in the man’s behaviour and words that I felt sorry for not talking to such a man before, who is so caring, while I traveled with him for 7/8 days. As we entered the DND flyover, the conductor came and approached for ticket. I was still carrying the Rs. 500/- note and presented to him. This time, I was pretty sure that the note could be exchanged while paying toll tax at the flyover. I said the man (he was sitting next to me) that he could give me his Rs. 10/- note and I will ask the conductor to cut Rs. 20/- form my Rs. 500/- note. So accordingly, I requested the conductor to give the note to the driver who can present it on the tax counter. But the conductor refused and said that the driver has a card. Again I was in a problem. Just as the conductor refused me, the man (who was ready with two Rs. 20/- notes) gave away the notes to the conductor within a second.. [it seemed that the man knew that the conductor will not accept my Rs. 500/- note and so I will have problem] I asked the man if he has paid my fare to which he just shook his head with a smile. Finally, we reached Noida and both of us got down from the bus. The distance between my office and the man’s is hardly 10/15 minutes walking. After getting down from bus, I walk everyday for 10 minutes to reach my office. So for the man it will take around 20/25 minutes to reach his office if he goes walking. The man said that he will take a bus or a scooter and that I should leave. I started walking. It was such a nice feeling that I hardly could explain. I became jovial and could feel the presence of BABA all throughout my journey. I am sure BABA was there with me. We all know that BABA has the power to mingle within the soul of anybody; because that lovely voice and the soft spoken words could not be of that man, but only BABA’s. I just considered a few things: it was quite next to impossible to travel without paying a single penny; while the bus conductor has seen me with Rs. 500/- note and also he does not have the change why did not he ask me to get down from the bus, why didn’t he give me the change later on to buy a ticket when he had the change and I approached him the second time; how did the man knew that the Rs. 500/- note could not be tendered at the toll tax counter and he was ready with two Rs. 10/- notes; why did he ask me to visit his office someday, and why was he curious if I have left my office as he did not see me for a few days. And the most important thought that arise in my mind is if he is traveling for the last 3/4 days from the same stand at the same time, why did not I meet him? Today I met him only because that he will help me pay for my ticket as I will have problem with the Rs. 500/- note. I could not believe that without spending single paise, I reached my office all the way from Delhi to Noida. Who has helped me out? None other than my BABA. In fact, day before yesterday in the message box on the blog <http://sathgurushirdisaibaba.blogspot.com>, I wrote: BABA people say that YOU pay darshan to YOUR devotees in many forms and shapes. When are YOU going to give me YOUR darshan. I wrote with a general thought and not with any high hope. But BABA has listened to my prayer and has shown me HIS presence mingling on to the soul of that man. I could not control my emotions as BABA has answered my prayer. Whenever I think of this episode, tears begin to flow and my happiness knows no bound. BABA I bow to YOU with all my sincere devotion and offer YOU my “saha sra koti pranam.†Bless everybody, as without YOUR Blessings we cannot take a single breath. The shadow of YOUR Blessings is just like an umbrella that protects us all from all sorts of calamities.
