Guest guest
Thank-you so much for posting this! My spirituality is Native American as well as having Cherokee ancestry. When I first learned of Sri Swamiji and visited the rocks at DRC, I was drawn to the Native American mandala that was hanging over the Shiva rock. That is how I knew that Sri Swamiji was my guru. Your post has brought me more clarity about this great attraction to Him. I was also amazed to hear that the rocks had once been a Native American healing site. I felt like I had come home. Thank-you, Sri Swamiji for these blessings! For the Lakota, there are four ages, just like there are four yugas. The buffalo represents all of time. For each day, the buffalo loses one hair. For each age, the buffalo loses one leg. When all four legs are gone, the cycle ends.... > > At the summer equinox, to this day, the Lakota gather on the buttes to do the ancient sun dance. Worshipping the Sun is an important part of of their faith and this ritual requires rigorous discipline in which the participants fast and purify daily in sweat lodges as they prepare for the dance ritual. > > Black Elk " s visions are very beautiful, and to His people he was much like Swamiji is to us. The old ways of the Native Americans have much in common with what Sri Swamiji teaches us. > > > - > Sri Pada Vallabha Digambara > jaigurudatta > Tuesday, November 17, 2009 8:21 AM > Black Elk Oglala Sioux Holy Man, 1863-1950 (quote) > > > > Black Elk Oglala Sioux Holy Man, 1863-1950 > > " You have noticed that everything as [Native American] Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the Power of the World always works in circles, and everything tries to be round.....
