Ananda Kumar Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage trust is a nonprofit, voluntary organisation founded on June 17th, 1996 with the blessings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba to help the needy and downtrodden in

society. The Trust which is registered as a charitable institution, has been functioning for the past Eight years as an orphanage for destitutes, and street children-named Sai Niketan. It brings up orphans, providing them adequate living environment and proper education. There is a network of Sai Niketans spanning Five Districts of Kerala. The other Institutions run by the Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust are :- SayoojYam - in Trivandrum home for destitutes and helpless old women who have no one to support them at the fag end of their lives. Saphalyam (Pathanamthitta - Konni) is committed to providing training and imparting skills to youth in job oriented areas. Help will be provided for tribals and economically backward people to enable them to obtain driving licence free of cost. Sai vidya

niketan aims to provide free education for the poor children of the locality. Sri Sathya sai service cell helps people of Trivandrum and other Districts to get information regarding their pension papers, provident fund etc, saving them unnecessary travel and effort. It also helps people by giving them proper advice in appropriate cases. Sayahnam in a day-care centre for old people suffering from “Alzhemer’s Disease”, it is situated in Nalanchira, Trivandrum. Sri Chitra Thirunal Medical Centre and ARDSI also collaboration with the functioning of this centre. Santhwanam where mentally disabled children are accommodated and trained in an atmosphere full of love and care.

Efforts are made to rehabiltate them and make them self sufficient. Sai samanvaya Anxiety in facing the realities of life, dread of defeat, disappointment, are some of the characteristics of modern day life. Such circumstances tend to create unrest among students, disrupting family relationships “Sai Samanvaya” helps them in tackling their problems and helps them in their personality development. A free homeo dispensary and computer center function in Kottarakara. All the above projects are functioning and running smoothly. Sai Gramam our dream project will be a unique experience in Kerala. Sai Gramam The Concept Sai Gramam, proposed to come up in Trivandrum, Kerala, intends to initiate, develop and integrate various schemes of service to benefit weaker sections of the society such as forsaken children, children from a

poor background, mentally challenged and physically disabled persons as also old men and women not tended to by their relatives. The ideological basis of our project draws sustenance from Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s global vision and his spirit of service benefitting the cross-section of society and transcending geographical barriers. The inmates of the Sai Gramam would develop and blend into a unified, peaceful community-harmoniously integrated with the environmental and natural surroundings and would try to fulfil the vision and dreams of the ancient sages as well as those of our very own Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Our ultimate goal is of course to strive for the great objective epitomised by the ancient prayer. “Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu”. Entrance of the Sai Gramam will have a mosque, church and temple, which shows the unity of faith. the project was launched by the president of India H.E. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul kalam on 18 November, 2002 at Rajbhavan, Trivandrum, Kerala. All the service done in this village is completely free. For the realisation of

the afore-said objective, we would need about 50 acres of land where our intention is to establish adequate housing and provide institutional facilities. Total cost of the project is 140 crores. Our envisaged Projects are:- 1. Sai Niketans-to house 300 children. These Niketans would comprise 32 cottages and each of these cottages will house 9 children along with their foster-mothers. Approximate cost would be Rs. 5 lakhs each. 2. Sayoojyams- to house 200 old men and women and this would consist of 20 cottages each housing 10 people with 2 attendants. Approx. Cost -7 Lakhs each. 3. SANTHWANAMS - to

house 100 children with mental retardation. This Project requires 20 cottages with 5 children in each of these cottages, aided by 2 care takers.- Approx Cost 5 lakhs each. 4. SAI KARUNALAYAM - to house 150 people who have been treated and relieved of mental disorders 15 in each

cottage-Approx. Cost 7 lakhs each. 5. SAYAHNAM Centre for people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. 6. PRAYER HALL Approx. Cost 41 lakhs 7. CANTEEN common to all-Approx. Cost 32 lakhs 8. KITCHEN Approx. Cost 14 lakhs 9. CHURCH Approx. Cost 20 lakhs 10. MOSQUE Approx. Cost 20 lakhs 11. TEMPLE Approx. Cost 20

lakhs 12. SANKETHAM Old age home for men. 13. SAI HRIDAYALAM – De-addiction centre 14. A HOLISTIC HOSPITAL - giving free service with equal importance to all systems of Medicine Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy etc. with a yoga centre- This will be the first of its type in Kerala. 15. SAI NARAYANALAYAM - to feed the poor and the hungry who reach Sai Gram - open for 24 hours of the

day. 16. AGRICULTURAL GARDEN and AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH CENTRE. 17. JOB ORIENTED TRAINING - Every year 10,000 people will be trained in jobs of their choice to enable them to earn their livelihood eg. Plumbing, Driving, Electrical work, Weaving etc. various Crafts

and Cottage industries will also be included so that the women of the locality will also become self supporting. 18. DAIRY FARM-GOKULAM 19. BIO-GAS PLANT 20. SOLAR ENERGY GENERATION, WIND ENERGY, HYDRO ELECTRIC PLANT ETC. 21. ART VILLAGE - where artists who need financial help can stay and draw or paint and sell their work. 22. SAI SAMYOJANA Guest House in the Campus- Guest houses with modern facilities with single or double occupancy will be built. A down payment will enable the donor to have a suite of rooms for themselves under this scheme Sai Samyojana so long as they desire. Interested parties could also benefit from the Sai-Gram-Yojana whereby Donators could be provided with an occupancy free of charge for 5 days a year. 23. A VEDIC UNIVERSITY with main foens on the study of Vedas and Sanskrit, including Research and development an various systems of Science- Doctoral and post doctoral courses can also be conducted in accordance with the objectives of the University.
