Ode to a fisherman

---

by day, the fishermen gossiped of the fame,

of a crackpot fisherman who had no name

had a long gray beard, not quite tame

came to fish in the water, a quiet game

upon entering the lake, it was never the same

nightly, just after the fall of rain

fish he would catch, and go back the same

an endless work, a tireless game

many a fish to be caught, none the least bit tame

of a crackpot fisherman who had no name

oh what a mystery, the fisher of man with no name
