Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta ! *DATTA STAVAM !!* Is there any devotee who does not know this or who does not chant this ? But how many of us actually know the inner meaning of this stotram which is part of our lives ? Purjya Sri Swamiji out of His divine love and affection on us has narrated this Datta Stavam during 2006 in the Universal Prayer Hall in Mysore ashrama. This discourse is now being telecast on *Gemini TV at 6 am IST* *on every friday* starting from today. For those who missed today's episode, Swamiji gloriously explained why we should start the stotram with Guru Parampara stuthi - the meaning of Sri Ganeshaya Namah, Sri Saraswathyai Namaha, Sri Pada Vallabha Nrusimha Saraswathi, Sri Guru Dattatreyaya Namah ! In today's 30 minute episode, He marvelously sang a Ganapathi bhajan, and said that we should start with Ganapathy prayer as he is Vignadhipathi, then followed by Saraswathi as she is gnana devatha and then remember Sri Pada Sri Vallabha Swami and Sri Narasimha Saraswathi swami as they are the most recent gurus for our times in the Dattatreya Parampara. Also He said we dont need to mention the name of our present Sadguru who is mantra guru but we just can say " Sree Guru " . He then explained the way we should perform namaskara, different ways for men & women, followed by a a datta bhajan. The first episode ends here. These 9 slokas written by Sri Vasudevananda Saraswathi Swami is popularised by our Sadguru deva in the year of 1985-1986 when a Telugu film " Shree Datta Darshanam " was released and since then it has become the heart & pulse of every devotee. Last year I had a chance to view this entire video cd and this is simply superb. Explaining 9 slokas for hours together is only possible for our beloved Appaji ! This album is a must for your collection but do not miss the telecast also as they have included couple of bhajans which are not part of the CD. Sri Guru Datta !
