Guest guest
Namaste Narasimhaye, There is an interesting bit of information about a British Diwan(Col. Munro if Iam not wrong) who had stopped the Devi's thrippoothaaraat Puja and all other expenditures associated with it saying that it was utter nonsense that people should even believe in such things. After sometime when the Diwan's wife started bleeding(during menses) which would not stop even after being treated by all renowed medical practitioners of that time, the diwan was advised by a local devotee to seek pardon from Devi and atone for his disbelief by donating for the expenditure of the puja. The Diwan agreed albeit reluctantly and the bleeding stopped soon after. To atone for this permanently till date the expenditure for the first thrippoothaaraat of the malayalam year is met from the endowments given to the temple by the Diwan. The above fact is very well narrated in one of the websites which I had visited long time back but unfortunately couldn't get the link. This and many such incidents go to prove that modern science and realistic thinking has a long way to go before understanding the intricacies of Divine happenings.
