He cured many sick people. He fulfilled the desires of many others. He offered his protection to many devotees. He taught many to live an upright life. He materialized many things from nowhere. He praised the glory of many gods. He was here, there and everywhere all at the same time. He displayed many wonderful powers. He became widely known in many ways, attracted many people, became their Guru, and taught them to reform themselves and live a chaste life. Thus the fame of Gurudeva spread far and wide. Gradually, Sri Ganapathi Deva achieved the additional attribute of Satchidananda and accorded Mantratva(the quality of a divine mantra) to his name. Later, at the request of his disciples and prompted by Lord Ganapathi, Gurudeva established his Ashram(shrine) on the western side of the Chamundi Hill, where ancient Rishis lived. After some time, Sri Gurudeva, prompted by Goddess Devi, went to Srisailam and, as he was taking his bath in the bathing ghat where Sri Narasimha Saraswathi who was endowed with the power of Sri Datta, disappeared into oblivion, an unknown Yati appeared, gave the sanyasa Ashram(vow of renunciation) to Gurudeva, also gave him the saffron robes and vanished as mysteriously as he appeared.
