Sairam,

Happy Baba's day to you all. May this day bring us new wisdom and understanding that Baba is always with us and by us. May His blessings shower upon one and all. Let us remember that He is forever guiding us in all our endeavours.

[baba asked of us two things or paise, one is shraddha and another is saburi. As followers of Baba how do we show Shradda towards Baba? Shraddha is faith, devotion and knowing that Baba almighty our Master knows what is good for us and that which will help us in our spiritual evolution. There is a difference in what we desire and what we need. Desire is governed by our blind urge to fulfill it irrespective of the consequences of the ways and means we take to fulfill that desire. Where as the need is basic and fulfillment of that need is by the using sense of discrimination knowing what is good and what is not, and accordingly taking steps to achieve the goal that meets our need. Baba helps us in achieving our needs and they are attained easily with HIs grace. A person needs to have complete faith in chosen diety and not wander hither and thither in persuit of fulfillment of desires. Do we have that faith to trust Baba and leave what we need to HIM? Now, to the SAburi - patience, Baba said that one who has patience victory seeks him out. Patience is manliness in man. Baba has given so much value to patience, it is duty of Man to do his act in achieving the goal and leave the result to God. God will decide if what is asked, is good enough for us or not, if so, when is the right time to get it. Implicit faith and patient in Master is sure to bring about success to the efforts of the man. I am sure you will all agree that we would desire things that give us happiness, what use is money when we have no loved ones to share with, what use is of a house when there is no family to fill it with love. I am sure you get my point. Our Master is supreme and knows what is best for us. Let us see all other gods and saints in our Master alone. Have complete faith in our Master and He is sure to guide us. Here is the message for the week...

The story of Padukas...

............A day before, one Parsi devotee of Bombay named Pastha Shet sent Rs.25/- by money order. Baba gave this sum for the installation of the Padhukas. The total expense of installation came up to Rs.100/- out of which Rs.75/- were collected by subscriptions. For the first 5 years, G.K. Dixit worshipped the Padukas daily and then this was done by Laxman Kacheshwar Jakhadi. In the first five years, Dr. Kothare sent Rs. 2 per month for lighting and he also sent the railing round the Padukas. The expense of bringing the railing from the station to Shirdi (Rs. 7-8-0) (presently Rs.7.50p) and roofing was paid by Sagun Meru Naik. Now, Jakhadi (Nana Pujari) does the worship and Sagun Meru Naik offers the naivaidya and lights the evening lamps. Bhai Krishnaji was orginally a devotee of Akkalkot Maharaj. He had come to Shirdi at the installation of the Padukas, in Shaka 1834 on his way to Akkalkot. He wanted to go to Akkalkot after taking the darshana of Baba. He asked Baba's permission for this. Baba said - "Oh, what is there in Akkalkot? Why do you go

there? The incumbent Maharaj of that place is here, Myself." Hearing this Bhai did not go to Akkalkot. He came to Shirdi off and on, after the installation of the Padukas."... chapter 5 Satcharita.

Baba bless us and guide us always.

Humble pranams

Sairam
