ReporterVISAKHAPATNAM: Krushi Orthopaedic Welfare Society, working for the welfare of the physically challenged, will celebrate its 22nd anniversary with a string of programmes on June 21.Its secretary and orthopaedic N.V.S. Kiran Kumar told reporters here on Friday that of the society’s 20 programmes only one was funded by the government and all the other programmes were organised with its own resources and support from individuals and that of the executive body.There is going to be a competition for differently abled Singers and Musicians at Kalabharathi on June 21. And some of these differently abled singers and musicians will be selected to sing Songs on Shirdi Saibaba for the devotional CD ‘Sainaadhuniki Bhava

Geetikalu’.Interested can register themselves at Bharadwaja Hospital, Seethammadhara, on the road to Gurudwara (telephone 2551656) and select the raw track of one of the songs for participating in the competition.The CD comprising of nine songs on Shirdi Saibaba,written by Dr. Kiran Kumar himself and Moola Sarveswara Rao, a Teacher and rendered by physically challenged would be released on the Anniversary Day itself, he said. For the first time a music CD was recorded with songs rendered by physically challenged in Andhra Pradesh, he claimed. The rights would be given commercially.At the anniversary, the physically challenged artistes and the other artistes would perform a ‘Jugalbandi’ presenting Song and Dance Programmes.Health cardsDr. Kiran Kumar said artistes in the district would be given health cards that

would offer them and their family free medical assistance by him and his father N. Srinivasa Rao, a former Chief of Medicine of King George Hospital. The health cards would be provided in association with actor ‘Kallu’ Chidambaram, who was planning a diary of artistes in the district. Six prominent personalities would be honoured on the day.
