Guest guest Posted August 1, 2008 Report Share Posted August 1, 2008 Om Namah Shivay New innovative way of Shiv Bhakti in Shravan Month binging from August 2 till 30 August 2008 Just two days are left for Shravan month. -A holy month for the Hindus - Indians, where they pray and chant for the Lord Shiv’s blessing. Apart doing so, devotees are poured milk – water etc for abhisheka over Shiv lingam, and thousands litters’ milk normally goes to the drainage. I know that, even by pouring a drop of water on the SivaLingam it is believed that one will be relieved of all the difficulties, sorrows and will be blessed with joy and happiness ever after. But take it on the other way round, every one has own belief on god, but it is believe that, such precious milk commodity should be make available, to the poor children or poor pregnant lady for delivering healthy human being. (During such high inflation time, where milk cost is Rs 30 – 35 a litter from just Rs 14 a litter in last year.) Accordingly, during Sravan month we Shiv devotees collectively had decided (since last three years) to do just small sprinkling (Abhimantrit) of milk over Shiv Lingam and rest of milk to be provide to unaided orphanage schools or supply to underprivileged children or poor pregnant lady. This activity, have been carried out at a school located at Vile Parle (Mumbai), Virar and in Gota Village (Gujarat) during Sravan Month on year on year basis. Given a chance this activity need mass awareness among the lord Shiv’s devotees and gradually they do understanding one of its kind bhakti to lord Shiv. This activity has been extended for school going poor and deprived children include those deaf and blind children during Sravan month. Only Message is: Please spread awareness, among the Lord Shiva’s devotees for the noble cause. Any query, suggestion and feedbacks are welcome.
