Namaste Sunil,

a) Wonderful that you began wearing your mala today. Its a good idea to keep beads in the mandir when you go to bed at night. In the morning, take a bath, change into fresh clothes, go to the mandir, light a dhoop stick, recite Om Namah Shivaya 9 times, waft the dhoop incense smoke around your Siddh Mala and begin wearing it.

b) If very urgent in passing urine and stools, rush to the toilet first. During toilet time, do not touch the mala. After Mother Nature finishes calling, wash hands thoroughly and wipe them. If Mother Nature's call is not very urgent, you can take a few minutes in putting the mala in a pouch inside a drawer or briefcase before going to the toilet.

c) The frequency of cleansing Java or Nepal beads depends on the climate where you live. If temperatures are hot and humid with lots of dirt or grit around and you get sweaty easily, wash the beads once every 6 weeks. If the air is clear and clean, the beads can be washed once every 3 to 6 months.
