Guest guest
Hi Tajinder, Yellow topaz is a good substitute for yellow sapphire. You might already know the chemical composition of sapphire which is Al2O3 and yellow topaz is at least 55% AL2O3. So the size of yellow topaz must be increased about doubled to get the desired effect. I couldn't find a good quality topaz gem to make a ring so I'm wearing a yellow sapphire 3.2 carat weight.... and please don't buy a cheaper poor quality yellow sapphire. To be effective it should be transparent and not opaque. .. Hope this helps.Regards, Samit --- On Sun, 1/18/09, tajinder sian <tajindersinghsian wrote: tajinder sian <tajindersinghsianRBSC : Yellow sapphire and yellow topaz Date: Sunday, January 18, 2009, 10:49 AM Hi all,Another quick question, I want to purchase the yellow sapphire however its far too expensive, can I subsitute with a yellow topaz and get the same results? The yellow sapphire is 3.5 carats and the yellow topaz would be 8 carats. Many thanks,Taj What can you do with the new Windows Live?
