Namaste Falguna,

Finally found a simple Tulsi Puja for you. Since you are a beginner, following

the simple puja below will give you experience while you study the voluminous

version that was posted a few days ago. For reference, it will be good to print

this message. Here goes :

Tulasi puja

1. First recite the following prayer:

nirmita tvam pura devair arcita tvam surasuraih

tulasi hara me 'vidyam pujam grihna namo 'stu te

O Tulasi, you were previously created by the demigods and worshiped by both

them and the demons. O Tulasi, kindly take away my ignoramce and accept my

worship. I offer my humble obeisances again and again.

2. Sprinkle water on Tulasi with your right hand from a panca-patra held in

your left hand and chant:

govinda-vallabham devim bhakta-caitanya-karinam

snapayami jagad-dhatrim krishna-bhakti-pradayinim

I am bathing goddess Tulasi who is very dear to Lord Govinda, who is the mother

of the universe, who gives life to all and who bestows devotion to Lord Krishna.

3. While pouring some arghya from a conch or other container on her soil,

chant:

shriyah shriye shriyavase nityam shridharam sat-krite

bhaktya dattam maya devi arghyam grihna namo 'stu te

O Tulasi, I offer my obeisances unto you, the shelter and residence of all

beauty and opulence. You are even worshiped by Lord Himself. Please accept this

arghya I am offering with devotion.

4. Offer a flower(s) with sandalwood pulp:

idam sagandha-pushpam om tulasyai namah (or plural etani sagandha-pushpani om

tulasyai namah)

5. Offer water from Lord's bath:

idam caranamritam om tulasyai namah

6. Offer acamana:

idam acamaniyam om tulasyai namah

7. Chant Tulasi's praises:

maha-prasada-janani sarva-saubhagya-vardhini

adhi-vyadhi-hare nityam tulasi tvam namo 'stu te

O Tulasi, I offer my repeated obeisances unto you, the mother of maha-prasada.

You increase the everyone's good fortune and remove all diseases and anxieties.

vrindayai tulasi-devyai priyayai keshavasya ca

krishna-bhakti-prade devi satyavatyai namo namah

I offer my repeated obeisances unto Vrinda, Tulasi-devi, who is very dear to

Lord Keshava. O goddess, you bestow devotional service to Lord Krishna and

possess the highest truth.
