Guest guest
OM SAI RAM, and my loving pranams at the Lotus Feet of our Divine Master Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. I am from South Africa (Durban and we have a youth wing which I attend. The leader of the youth wing generally has a meeting at the beginning of the year whereby he asks the youth what activities would interest them. To name a few. Volleyball tournaments, bonfires during winter evenings, boardgames, beach volleyball, afternoon walks on the beach etc..........now these are just the suggestions that normally come from the youth, so what happens is the youth leader takes all these fun activities and in cooperates Swami’s teachings in them. For instance, lets take the beachvolley ball activity, it would start early in the morning with Suprapadams and omkaars. Light breakfast is served, thereafter, a game of volleyball and it would end with some light meditation or an evening of study circle under the stars. It’s really what the youths look forward to. This is done once a year. The bonfire............the youths get together in the evenings and have a bring and share of light snacks, we generally try and get a motivational speaker to chat about peer pressures that youth of today experience and thereafter, order pizza’s for the youth. Most times these youth love “just hanging out”..........so we try and keep the atmosphere. Swami encourages the youths to be supervised by the little older youths like the over 30yrs........(which category I fall under) ..This ensures that the aims and objectiveness of the evening is to encourage team togetherness and most importantly how they can experience the teachings of Swami in any social event. Presently, our youths and many other devotees gather together every Monday evenings to help the Balvikas Guru’s with the preparations of Swami’s birthday. Some of the activities that they would help out in are the stage props, preparations of the hall etc................ I sincerely hope that your youth wing grows from strength to strength..........keep in touch!!!!!!!!!!
