Guest guest
Namaste Sunita You may refer to the book, 'The Spiritual Heritage of India' by Swami Prabhavananda for a clear explanation of the six systems of thought. You may buy it from www.vedanta.com Om Shanti Kathi > > Vivekananda Centre [sMTP:vivekananda] > Sunday, October 03, 1999 6:39 AM > list > [ramakrishna] Information > > " Vivekananda Centre " <vivekananda > > Can a list member kindly help and give a brief reply to this mail > (directly > or via the mail list)? > > thanks jay. > > > sunita dhar <sunita.dhar > hindu <hindu > 02 October 1999 14:56 > information > > > Dear Sir/Madam > > My Swami ji from NY Center wants me to do > research on the six system of Hindu philosophy > would you have any material on it? > > Sunil > > > Sri Ramakrishnaye Namah > Vivekananda Centre London > http://www.btinternet.com/~vivekananda/

Guest guest
Dear Mr. Dutta, There are many biographies of Sister Nivedita on the net. The best that I came across was at http://www.srisaradamath.org/sisternivedita.htm Most of these biographies are very small and sketchy. If you want a more comprehensive biography then you should look into Sister Nivedita of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda by Pravrajika Atmaprana published by the Sri Sarada Math at Dakshineswar, India. There is also a shorter biography The Story of Sister Nivedita by Pravrajika Atmaprana published by the same group. I hope this helps. Guest guest
> Sister Nivedita was born Margaret Noble, in Northern Ireland in 1867. An >educator, somewhat avant garde, she met Swami Vivekananda in 1895 in >London when he began speaking there. Very soon she got interested in his >plans for Indian girls and women and enlisted in his cause by sailing to >India in 1898. She started a girls' school, helped in the cleanup of slums, fought the plague of Calcutta, accompanied Swamiji on a trip to the West, got interested in the independence movement, was a great friend of Jagadish C. Bose and of Aurobindo Ghose. She separated herself from the Math & Mission in 1902 after the Swami's passing, continued to work for radical forces in the country and died prematurely in Darjeeling in 1911. There are two fine biographies: LONG JOURNEY HOME, by Barbara Foxe, and SISTER NIVEDITA, by Pravrijika Atmaprana. Yogeshananda
