Friendship is a blessing, and a friend is the channel through whom great emotional, spiritual, and sometimes even physical blessings flow.

Friends can cheer us when we are sorrowful or depressed. Friends can challenge us when we allow ourselves to get beyond our reasonable boundaries..

Friends can motivate us when we are ready to give in, and they can provide for us when life falls apart. The friendship between Sugriva & Sri Ramachandra, Vibhishana & Sri Ramachandra, Seetadevi & the daughter of Vibhishana - Sarama in Ashoka Vanam in Lanka when Ravana made Sri Rama's head in front of Seeta, when Sarama showed lot of campassion towards Seetadevi. And even Hanuman came to Seeta to tell her about the news of Ravana's death he asked Seeta if he can kill the Rakshas women who were around her, Seeta told him, that they have done their duty as employed by Ravana and the women were innocent and not to do any harm to them.

These are the main known examples of real friend ship and I am sure there are so many other situations, as we know very little about the real meaning of Sri Ramayanam.
