Guest guest
Sairam to all Sai Children, Sai Sisters and Sai Brothers in all 4 Sai SatSanghs in Dammam, Jubail, Jeddah and Riyadh . First of all I thank our National Chair Person Bro.Packy and Bro. Rajan for trusting and giving me the charge of this Sai Satsangh Internet posting Assignment. We continue with the Forty second (42nd) posting of the activities of all 4 centers. Summary: 1. Total Attendance all over Saudi about 125. 2. Study circle notes Details: Jubail center held the weekly Satsang on Friday 07th Dec at 11.00 AM attended by about 29 members at Bro Gopal's residence. Aarthi was taken by Bro. Sunil.8 members from Dammam attended. The report was given by Bro Swamy Mahadevan and Bro.Wimal. Thank you both Bro.Swamy Mahadevan and Bro. Wimal. Dammam-Khobar centre held the weekly Satsang on Wednesday, 5th December at Bro Ganeshan’s residence. 25 devotees attended the bhajan. Bro Ganeshan took the aarthi. Study circle was followed by the bhajan. The report was given by Bro Prem. Thank you Bro. Prem. Jeddah samiti held the weekly bhajan at Bro Gopi’s residence on Thursday, 6th Dec. 27 devotees attended the bhajan. Aarthi was taken by Bro Chandran. The report was given by Bro Gopi. Thank you Bro Gopi. We request the above centers (Jubail, Khobar and Jeddah to send more news of their activities). Our Riyadh Sai Samiti held the weekly bhajan on Friday at 9pm in the Riyadh centre. As usual our big hall was almost full with more than 45 devotees attending. Session started with Vedam and Sai Asthotram followed by 16 bhajans. The first bhajan was sung by our child lead singer Anirud Subash. As I had mentioned in our last posting that our National Chairperson Bro Packy Nathan decided to have a good practice of the lead singers mandatory (to get good vibration) before the session with our bhajan guru Bro Ravi Shankar, we could really feel the difference this time too. Shirdi Sai satcharitha was read by Bro.Kham. Aarthi was taken by Bro (Vedam) Narayan of SABIC. Next week we are having special Bhajans for Christmas organized by Bro Kham. All are welcome. Bro Venu (SABIC) and Sister Prema announced their departure from Saudi on exit in mid Jan 08. They both have been very active members and we will miss them dearly. We pray Swami for their peaceful and happy future. We experienced a small miracle in Riyadh . Sister Rama and her husband Bro. Suresh are one of the most active couples in our Riyadh Sai Satsang. Yesterday her gold chain from her neck (12 Gms) fell down and she realized it only after entering the bhajan hall. She and her husband searched all over and could not get it. Finally they gave up and attended the bhajan. They left for home after Bro Ramesh attended the study circle. While leaving when Sister Rama stepped out of the center, she (Lo & Behold) found her chain in the middle of the road after more than 2 hours in broad day light on a busy Riyadh road. There is simply no other explanation except that it is Baba’s miracle or Leela. It defies all logical rationalizations. Any way, we hope she brings us all good sweets in the next Bhajan. Bhajan was followed by study circle coordinated by Bro Kham. The topic discussed was the discourse by Swami at the valedictory function at Sai Youth Conference on 28 July 07 (this year) with the main theme: “Always be Happy and Peaceful†Here swami begins by saying we all emerge from TRUTH (Sathya). He says that when you contemplate on it, Sathyam is present in your heart. Here the truth referred is a bit different form our common understanding of socially accepted truth which differs from time to time. We are talking about “Eternal Truth†which is indeed timeless. This is the core of Advaita teaching (in Vedanta) which Swami refers to often. Swami then says that “True Education†begins with this understanding of TRUTH phenomena more than all other wordly knowledge. Such correct understanding (of TRUTH) creates PEACE in the heart. This leads directly to transformation in terms of Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi, Prem and Ahimsa. (Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non-Violence) the 5 pillars of SAI movement. In this way, he has operationalized Vedanta on day to day basis instead of making it just book-knowledge that it was before. All this is possible, since h uma n beings are inherently divine inside. Once they realize this TRUTH, rest follows. The topic will continue with next session In the evening some of the devotees said Good Bye to Sister Preena Gopinath who is leaving to Kerala on a long vacation with 108 Gayatri and some 12 bhajans. Come back soon, Preena we will miss your sweet melodies. We end 41st posting here with this Swami’s beautiful note— You can discover your own Truth, only when you are alone with yourself and there is silence all around you. It is only in the depth of silence that the voice of God can be heard. One of Mr. P.B.V.Rajan’s (our member) Letters to Editor appeared last week in Arab News on 4th Dec as reproduced below. Top 100 Congratulations. You have redrawn the commercial map of Saudi business and Industry far more than even the Chambers of Commerce and Industry using the almighty “pen†of the media. The new methodology gives distributed importance to “sales, assets and equity†instead of just sales as in earlier years. This is not only fair, but also the better-established methodology of internationally recognized Fortune & Financial Times Lists. Further, at a stroke, you have improved the “transparency†of financial info rmation in Saudi markets. Out of the Top 100, only a few companies have not disclosed their assets, owner’s equity, profits or total capital. With a fast-expanding economy and increasing number of listed companies, there is a need for better financial instruments. These are only possible with “transparency†of financial info rmation of those in public domain. There is also a noticeable change in editorial thinking as evident in the wide coverage given to the East with more articles on Saudi Arabia , China , India and Japan reflecting a worldwide shift in manufacturing capacities and educational aspirations. Of course, as mentioned in the headline, the thinking is still West as shown by the methodology adopted in ranking, being that of Forbes and Financial Times from the US and the UK . There is nothing wrong with that. Think West, go East. Well done. P.B.V.
